Obama draws 2,000 for Lancaster visit (pics)

I just got back from seeing Obama in Lancaster. My son and I were in the fifth row in the center. I put a few pics below and I'll probably talk more about the experience later.

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2008/03/obama_draws_2000_for_lancaster.html

In the most Republican county in Pennsylvania, Barack Obama was welcomed by another enthusiastic crowd of about 2,000 people.
The Democratic presidential candidate held a town hall meeting at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology during Day 4 of his six-day bus tour across Pennsylvania.

He was joined by York Mayor John Brenner, Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray and state Rep. Mike Sturla, a Lancaster County Democrat.

He spoke to an older and predominantly white crowd that welcomed his calls for fighting special interests in Washington during the event in the gymnasium of the John Barley Multi-Purpose Activity Center.

Obama plans to hold a press conference at a nearby gas station and then go to Allentown for another town hall meeting.

Later today, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton returns to the midstate. She hosts a 2 p.m. roundtable at the Capitol Diner in Swatara Twp. The discussion is not open to the public, but the diner will be open during Clinton's visit.

They put the overflow above on an indoor track

And so cool you were that close! When did you get in line -- last Friday? :7

I'm looking forward to your "report", too -- I always enjoy the on-the-ground stuff from both candidates' functions.

20. "He spoke to an older and predominantly white crowd..." Obviously a falsehood. Everyone knows old
white people don't support Obama.:sarcasm:

26. The thing that stands out to me in your pictures
Is that they captured very well Senator Obama's use of gesture in communication. Good speakers talk with their hands effortlessly, to the point that you almost don't notice it. Bad speakers try to emulate this, but it usually doesn't work. It just ends up looking forced.
