Mississippi certified returns have been updated - Obama +1, Clinton -1
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 03:37 PM by thevoiceofreason
Last week I wrote a math nerd alert where it seemed the official state summary did not match with a couple of counties (where the absentee and mail-in returns broke strong for Obama). Today, the Mississippi Secretary of State posted the new numbers. The final tally is:

Obama - 265,502
Clinton - 159,221

That gives Obama a heads-up 62.512% victory, which WILL switch another state-wide at-large delegate to him (there are 4 statewide pledged PLEO's in Mississippi, so 62.5% is the tipping point for them to break 3-1 instead of 2-2).

Net net? Now Mississippi broke 20-13.

On another note, Obama's margin of victory in Mississippi no longer "almost eclipsed" Hillary's primary margin in Texas - it completely surpassed it. To all you popular vote total affecianadoes, the hill just got a little steeper.

I wonder when the media will catch this and update.

8. Theoretically, these changes due to finished counting should be split even.
With half of them in favor of Obama, other half for Clinton.

Is that what's happening?

11. by 12/1000s of a one percent he found errors in the reporting of the math
from the counties. That changed the split from 2-2 to Obama 3-Clinton 1.

It is worth two superdelegates even better.

of why the blog community trumps the old media.

If this contest has shown anything it is that the old media is close to worthless when it comes to investigating and establishing cold hard facts.

I am avid BHO supporter from India and fully rooting for him since I see a statesman not a typical pol in him.

Thanks for a great job. Does Obama know about this great news (not that they are dumb).

I read that you are also a lawyer for BHO camp in Texas. Good luck.

I will buy a beer (or two or three) and a great dinner and if you can come down to India. Unlike Barack, I couldn't afford to foot the flight ticket.

I have 5 kids - 4 teenagers and a 21 yr old. There is a lot of talk around our house about the race. (Although I was not convinced by my kids - they saw my wife and I getting involved and, not to be outdone . . . You can guess the rest of the story).
