1. Yeah, just like "Selma" inspired Baracks parents and without "Selma" he wouldn't have been born.
Too bad it took place after his birth but details , details.

6. Snipergate was MUCH MUCH more than a misstatement.
It was an unnecessary fabrication.

9. is that what pure fabrications are now called
MISSTATEMENTS? she misspoke on not just one, but FOUR SEPARATE OCCASSIONS...you would think it would have dawned on her..."Hey, I dont remember this...maybe it never happened"

a "doh" moment?

15. What scares me more is the idea that she
DID repeat the lie so often that she came to really believe it.

Pathological.

33. Often referred to as... wait for it...
Exaggeration. Four separate exaggerations, I guess. Somehow, a pattern of exaggeration is not really a character flaw. I guess.

14. A misstatement would have been
saying that they were in Bosnia for 12 days instead of eight (just as a for instance). A misstatement would have been getting the first or last name wrong of one of the delegation they met with.

A lie is saying when you landed, you were under sniper fire and couldn't even be greeted because it was so doggone dangerous. That's what you call making it up out of whole cloth. A lie.

27. The Edmund Hillary thing was forgivable. The sniper thing was not.
The former was possibly a result of a tale told to her as a youngster. The latter was a tale she told as a 60YO woman.

29. she's not an ordinary politician
she's half of a power couple and she's acting in ways that seem detrimental to the party. It seems that way to activists who care about progressive issues. It's hard to see any other Democratic politician doing that. Maybe Ted Kennedy in 1980, but that didn't turn out very well either.

23. Here is a funny but not really
I finally joined DU 9 months or so ago thinking to participate in the discussion over the POTUS and impeachment.

Impeachment is off the table. Apparently the Constitution was the throw away paper table clothe for the summer congressional picnic.

The two candidates left as potential Democratic nominees has sunk to my last (Hillary) and next to last (Obama) favorites. Both started higher.

I lost my respect for Bill Clinton.

Al Gore looks better than he ever has to me as I was not a Gore fan.

I discovered the detail of Dennis the K but was a Edwards and Clark supporter and never the twain shall meet. PS Edwards gets rural America better than the other candidates.

Now I am truly worried that the GOP will not even need to cheat to win the next POTUS election.

Not to mention WWIII breaking out with fronts in the Middle East and South America and maybe East Asia and Africa too.

Depressing as all get out.

That is a hilarious comic. I am ashamed for her.

32. You inspired me... Here's my vision of where she goes if she leaves the race!
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 10:52 PM by calipendence
She could hang out with Jack Harkness or the Good Doctor and go ANY place she wants, and perhaps this is the way that she wins by going back and altering time. The Doctor and Jack though probably think she will be too much of a risk to creating a time paradox for her to be his third partner in the coming year...

Wonder if Bill will let her go with the Doctor though... Maybe it will give him some time to visit Monica in Portland...
