WARNING: Obama/Clinton Feud is hurting us!!!
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 04:44 AM by rockthevote2006
We need to stop this long feud and unite behind one candidate.
We are spending all this time, energy, and money attacking fellow
Dems, when we should be attacking John McCain.

We have an amazing chance to take back the White House, and yet
here we are arguing between Obama and Hillary supporters. Even if
only 10% of the supporters of the losing Dem decide to stay home
or switch to McCain, that's probably enough to tip the election into
a McCain victory.

So please, let's stop this bickering and spend our time and money
fighting McCain, not each other. If you want a 3rd Bush term, then
continue the feud. If you do not want a 3rd Bush term, then stop
the infighting and unite behind one candidate. We are hurting our
chances for victory when we argue with fellow Dems instead of the
Republicans.

Here is a New York Times article discussing this issue:

2. Hillary is lying about Obama again...
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 04:44 AM by acrosstheuniverse
blatant lies! And the fucking media gives her a free pass for it. You know what I don't give a shit anymore. The majority of voters out there will always be fucking ignorant and listen to what the media says. It's all over the newspaper blogs. Her supporters are foaming at the mouth with sheer hatred at Obama for him wanting her to step down. Which is not what he even said. SO just FUCK THE MEDIA, FUCK THOSE IDIOTS OUT THERE, and if we don't want someone better then Mclame or Billary then by golly we don't fucking DESERVE such a leader like Obama. And America will continue to be a laughing stock to many nations and absolutely hated by others.

Sometimes I just wanna say FUCK THE WORLD.

Thanks Hillary. Thanks a fucking whole lot!

6. my sheer hatred for her is justified...
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 04:49 AM by acrosstheuniverse
by her blatant lies which unfairly plant seeds of sheer hatred in her supporters against Obama.

She is a reckless person who is sabotaging Obama's chances in the Fall.

7. Oh so you're a hypocrite. You can hate, but the Hillary
supporters are not allowed to.

I'm not a big fan of hate, but you go for it.

8. She's encouraging them to hate for false reasons
Read these newspaper blogs such as Reuters and others and you'll see them bitching about Obama not wanting the votes counted everywhere. She is fanning those flames based on lies.

14. You're the kind of scary cultist freak that makes me run like hell from Obama.
Plant seeds of hatred? Psychiatric help might be appropriate. I'm afraid you're going to open fire into a crowd buddy. God, poor Obama. You can pick your friends but you can't pick your followers.

3. Many Obama supporters won't stop because they
hate Hillary Clinton for not surrendering.

And many (or the few Hillary supporters who bother posting anymore) won't stop because they believe their candidate still has a chance, and want all of the votes counted.

So the bottom line is, it won't be happening.

It's politics.

5. It's Hillary's fault
She has the power to stop this. And with such power comes responsibility. She should drop out because it will be impossible for her to win the popular vote, majority of states, and pledged delegates, plus she has no money and her approval rating is almost as low as Bush. She needs to drop out NOW!

9. Primaries are cleansing.
the party set the agenda
the party set the timetable
the last week of August?
last primary in late June?
the party moved the convention back further than ever before(cause it worked for W)

I'm tired of democrats who can wait till the end and want to skip to the ending now, with several chapters left to go.Paranoia is rampant.Uncertainty reigns, for the moment. Some can't stand the suspense.
Shut about about doubts and fear, let the primary process play out.

I am going to say the same thing I tell my 12-year old softball players.
Winning isn't everything.
How you conduct yourself will stay with you longer than the outcome of any one contest.

I am trying hard to follow my own advice.
we all should

DEEP BREATHS NOW
inhale the courage
exhale the fear.

10. If Hillary has her way...
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 05:10 AM by acrosstheuniverse
Obama will have LESS then two months to present himself to the American people and wage a battle against Mccain. The Republican Convention is in early September. Mccain will get a boost from that and it will be the middle of September before Obama can successfully begin his campaign and push momentum his way. This is difficult and unprecedented for a Presidential candidate. In the meantime Mccain will have gotten a six month head start to build up his own campaign.

Thanks Hillary

11. The DNC set the timetable.
We have to lie in the bed we made.
I can't blame her for waging a close race.
I can't blame him for his surprising wins.

Remember Mcain could(and likely will) look foolish over and over during those dreaded weeks, sealing our victory.

12. I have never....
taken kindly to being shit on, accused of being a racist, or a shill for corporate America. If you're an HRC supporter, you are guilty by association using Obalogic. Why would anyone take that abuse, then melt into a cumbayah love-fest with their accusers? Because the accusers have the upper hand at the moment, and feeling magnanamous, will "let" the other side play now. If it were not for the upper hand, the shit waterboarding by Obama supporters would be stronger than it is now. I'll vote for the dem nominee, but not because of my appreciation for his supporters all of a sudden wanting to play nice. I'll do it for the right reasons. And HRC supporters, listen up. If Obama gains the nomination, they will woo your vote with "let's all get along" bullshit, but in the end, they will still hate HRC, and by extension, her supporters. You will be a tool they use to win, but in the end, they won't think any more of you than they do now, which is apparently, very little. Thanks.

and it's gonna take MORE then a lousy month and a half for the Democratic party to reunite around Obama (which the longer Billary stays in the less likely it will be) let alone UNITING THE ENTIRE FUCKING COUNTRY AROUND HIM! Do you see what your candidate is doing, Hillary supporters??? And how your candidate DOES NOT believe that time is the essence?

We are gonna have John fucking Mccain as President for the next four years and if gets sick or passes away his fresh young VP will be taking over for the next probable 16 years! Did you forget that already? John Mccain will most likely pick a strong running mate that gives him even more momentum this Fall and will take over should something happen to Mccain!

17. Uh. I'm not a Clinton supporter so don't call her 'my' candidate.
I didn't vote for her in my senatorial primary election in 2006. She's a centrist, corporate shill. Problem is I think Obama is a centrist corporate shill with the worst group of hysterical lunatic followers in the history of the Democratic party. The problem isn't that Clinton is still in the campaign, the problem isn't even that she's playing dirty tricks, it's that your crew has alienated half the party with your bullying. That's why your candidate is telling you people to shut the fuck up--because you're the problem.

I like Obama more than Clinton (eh, maybe not--they're both 2's on a scale of 1-10) but I find Obama's supporters so nuts that I don't even want to be in the same party as a good number of them. All things being equal between the candidates: I like Clinton's supporters better.

If Obama loses the election, it'll be Obama's fault. Not Clinton's fault. So grow up. Stop playing the victim and take some responsibility.

the democratic party and the nation HE would get out of the race and allow everyone to unite behind Hillary.

..........Now. Do you hear how ridiculous you sound when you say these things?

16. Let's get one thing straight: 99% of this is due to the Hillary haters.

Don't give me this "both sides are equally guilty" shit. I've been appalled at the anti-Clinton rhetoric at DU ever since I came here. It's anti-Clintonism that's hurting us. It's a true pathology.

Yes, the pro-Clinton people have struck back. But they were provoked. Many other DUers--including some more reasonable Obama supporters--have noted this lopsided nastiness:

18. And if I remember correctly you're an Obama supporter.
I don't really like either candidate, but I agree. The sheer hatred of his followers reminds me so much of the right wing that I've lost even the slightest bit of faith in rank-and-file Democrats. To me, it's like our candidates have moved right for the past 20 years and now our personalities are moving to the right.

I think it's really important for Obama supporters to stop this stuff (and for Clinton supporters to accept the olive leaf when it's offered) I've never seen a group of people make a politician look so bad.
