200,000 of 230,000 newly registered Penn. voters... R 4 Obama
Pennsylvania's new Democrats

The final numbers still aren't in for voter registration in Pennsylvania, which closed on March 24, but according to the spreadsheet (.xls) the Secretary of State is maintaining, the numbers could make a real difference in the primary.

There have been 102,113 new Democratic registrations this year, and another 132,688 voters who switched their affiliation to Democrat.

The Obama campaign has been running an all-out registration effort there, and Jay Newton Small reported recently that the highest registration appears to be in Obama's core. Registration also accelerated dramatically in the days leading up to the March 24 deadline.

An Obama aide told me recently that the campaign believes it added more than 200,000 supporters through the process, a number that could, at the least, narrow Clinton's margin substantially in a contest where the highest estimates of turnout run between 1.5 million and 2 million.

So If Hillary's averge of 12% over Obama is polled from voters who are not newly registered(does anyone know if they poll non-previous voters) Her lead would be around 200,000 voters. Obama having registered 130,000 MORE voters than Hillary... closes the gap a good deal. I am starting to feel that we might possibly have an upset.

1. the delegate struggle resembles TX. Hillary is strong with Bush voting, less populous regions
Obama has the cities with the true democrats, worth more delegates.

11. no one will be able to predict penn accurately because of new
and changed registrations. polls don't count anymore except to give momentary aid and comfort to the two camps. It will be a long and exciting night.

2. No upset
Any huge infusion of young new voters into the Democratic Party will be offset by Rethugs coming over to the Democratic Party via pigboy's Operation Chaos and their mission to get Hillary elected and/or break up the Democratic Party.

The Obama campaign's efforts might keep the Hillary blowout to a minimum, which is a worth while effort, but it probably won't get Obama the win.

The rethugs will be out in force that day putting their lean on the contest. It won't be pretty and it will show in the exit polls.

Wait and watch.

It's sad, but true.

5. Disrupter Republicans will only be able to vote on April 22
if they had re-registered as Democrats by March 24th, since Pennsylvania is a closed primary.

Somehow I don't see Rush's dittoheads as that far-thinking. We'll just have to see, I guess.

I think the sentence should read:

"Somehow I don't see Rush's dittoheads thinking."

;)

7. I stand corrected.

I have to admit I'm enjoying an imagined scene where some member of Rush's Beevis and Butthead Brigade slithers up to get his democratic ballot on April 22 and finds out he can't play.

9. You know something, every time someone tells me to "wait and watch"
they end up being wrong. Then they make up some lame excuse as to why when I, waited and watched, their little fairy tale didn't come true. I'm still waiting for Gore to jump in the race, I'm still waiting for Edwards to go on Leno and endorse Hillary (apparently I was a moron for not believing that one  ) I'm still waiting for this explosive story about Obama's mob backers which is going to haunt the front pages right up until election day.

10. The fewer voters, the better for Clinton
The Obama strategy in Texas was to get out the vote. The national Obama workers said that in almost every state, it was to Clinton's advantage to discourage new voters. She does not motivate people to register, etc. Obama does and it helps his numbers a lot.
