1. A 26-point swing in 2 1/2 weeks?
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 09:16 AM by VolcanoJen
This has "outlier" written all over it.

Still, Obama's definitely been trending better than Clinton.

Edit: Hmmm... they have a more impressive track record than any other major polling firm in recent races:

28. I would agree it's an outlier, except for the fact...
...That we just saw a poll 1-2 days ago which had it at Clinton over Obama by five, compared to 15 a few weeks ago. So while I wouldn't say this is necessarily accurate yet, there's at least one other poll which shows it rapidly tightening of late.

25. He should go ahead and watch more Faux news
I am not sure why the democrats there would take this clown seriously when he says on TV that Fox has done the fairest job thus far in the primaries.

27. I'm for Obama but that sounds optimistic, Quinipac has a 10 point spread
which is still a good sign considering that Hillary has alot of
the elected officials in PA supporting her.

For Obama to go from 20 points behind to 10 points behind is a sign
that he is catching on.

Its the youth and progressive vote....

10. The MoE for this poll is +/-2.8%.
And they've got a better track record in recent polling than any other major polling firm:

http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/ppptrackrecord.pdf

This thing smells like an outlier, but one thing can't be denied... Obama's the one trending up, in every major PA poll.

7. From the release...
Obama overtakes Clinton in PA

Raleigh, N.C. – Barack Obama has taken the lead over Hillary Clinton 45-43 in
Pennsylvania, according to the newest survey from Public Policy Polling.

It’s a remarkable turn around from PPP’s last Pennsylvania poll, conducted two and a
half weeks ago, that showed Clinton with a 26 point lead in the state. That poll was
released at the height of the Jeremiah Wright controversy and the day before Obama’s
major speech on race in Philadelphia. Obama has been trending upward in national
polling and in many state level polls since then and this survey reflects that pattern.

“In the last few weeks there has been increasing attention given to the fact that a
continuing divisive Democratic nomination fight could hurt the party’s chances of
defeating John McCain this fall,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling.
“The major movement in Obama’s direction in Pennsylvania could be an indication that
Democrats in that state think it’s time to wrap it up.”

Obama is narrowing the gap with white voters, trailing just 49-38, while maintaining his
customary significant advantage with black voters. He leads that group 75-17.
Obama also leads among all age groups except senior citizens, with whom Clinton has a
50-34 advantage. The poll shows the standard gender gap with Obama leading by 15
points among men while trailing by 10 points with women.

14. LOWER expectations
Clinton has to win by 15 points. Let's not let Clinton turn a 6-8 point PA win into a huge victory. Obama is still the major underdog in this state.

That said, this has CASEY written all over it. Senator Casey may have flipped PA.

that Obama represents sincere change, smart change instead of the status quo we've already had for my voting life. I want change and with Obama smart leadership is finally here.

It measures March 24-31, with the first couple days not really taking the Bosnia flap into consideration.
