Bill Clinton's Tirade Stunned Some Delegates
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 11:32 AM by hnmnf
Looks like Bill lost it...and agrees completely with Carville.

Bill Clinton's tirade stunned some delegates
Phillip Matier,Andrew Ross

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

The Bill Clinton who met privately with California's superdelegates at last weekend's state convention was a far cry from the congenial former president who afterward publicly urged fellow Democrats to "chill out" over the race between his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama.

In fact, before his speech Clinton had one of his famous meltdowns Sunday, blasting away at former presidential contender Bill Richardson for having endorsed Obama, the media and the entire nomination process.

"It was one of the worst political meetings I have ever attended," one superdelegate said.

/snip/

But as the group moved together for the perfunctory photo, Rachel Binah, a former Richardson delegate who now supports Hillary Clinton, told Bill how "sorry" she was to have heard former Clinton campaign manager James Carville call Richardson a "Judas" for backing Obama.

It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade.

"Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that," a red-faced, finger-pointing Clinton erupted.

The former president then went on a tirade that ran from the media's unfair treatment of Hillary to questions about the fairness of the votes in state caucuses that voted for Obama. It ended with him asking delegates to imagine what the reaction would be if Obama was trailing by just 1 percent and people were telling him to drop out.

3. Wow, And some people want him back in the white house?
What is he going to do when china tries to edit trade agreements to give them even more edge or when a delegation from Iran arrives to discuss stuff?

And the republicans yet again get more ammo to use against Clinton if she magically wins the nomination. This is turning into the biggest Wet Dream in GOP history.

10. he called them the day before he endorsed Obama
He said the call was not pleasant. Now we have a more clear idea of how that must have sounded.

A person can change their mind.

13. Seeing no problem with that sort of tirade...
...is absolutely expected from a person who slagged Elizabeth Edwards as “unstable” on this board a few days ago.

Disgusting.

26. Richardon claims he didn't promise his endorsement to the Clintons
Edited on Wed Apr-02-08 12:22 PM by housewolf
What evidence do you have that he did? What are the dates and the circumstances? If you're going to accuse someone of lying, you need to provide evidence, not just parrot what some aggrieved person claims, especially someone with a history of lying himself that is indisputable.

Richardson served the Clinton adminstration loyally. That is all he owes them. What he DOES owe, though, is to the country, to make decisions that he deep down believes are the best for the COUNTRY, even if they are not what the Clintons want.

How many times did that Tuzla sniper story get told? Jesus Harold Christ, you've got a lot of damn nerve to get upset about rumors of a lie when your favorite candidate herself was busted red-handed telling a whopper over and over.

14. Someone lied to Clinton -- boo freaking hoo
At least Richardson didn't go on TV and lie to the country.

Bill Clinton has really damaged himself with this campaign. He got through the Monica thing with some high numbers and really polished his image in the eight years since he left office, but -- like Bush squandering the world's good will after 9-11 -- Clinton has really pushed his image and reputation into the shitter with his demeanor during this campaign.

What a shame!

Both Clintons have gotten to the point where they reek of desperation and heavy-handed political maneuvering.

Bill, particularly, is showing a very ugly side and gives every impression that he sees Hillary's victory as a way of getting more time for himself in the White House.

21. We've all heard about these tirades, but Bill has mostly managed to keep them off
camera for 15 years. (He's come close a couple times during this campaign to getting caught on camera!) So what happens when he finally does have a complete melt down on camera? More to the point, what happens when Hillary really lets loose on camera?

31. They may have been.
The reporter may not have had the opportunity to talk with all the delegates present before filing the story. Thus there could have been other delegates stunned as well, but the reporter was only able to verify that "some" were stunned.

Facing Up to Depression After a Bypass
By RANDI HUTTER EPSTEIN
Published: November 27, 2001

(SNIP)
"small study published in August in the journal Applied Nursing Research suggests that older patients and women may be most susceptible to depression after bypass surgery. The study, of 31 men and women, found that 65 percent of the patients were depressed three weeks after surgery and 26 percent continued to be depressed by 12 weeks.

''There are a group of people who get depressed and will get better, but we need to target those people who remain depressed so we can treat them,'' said Dr. Susan McCrone, one of the investigators and chairwoman of the department of health promotion and risk reduction at the West Virginia University School of Nursing in Morgantown.
