Obama: I'd hire Al Gore
Would consider former vice president for cabinet-level post or higher

Obama hints at cabinet post for Gore
April 2: Barack Obama says Al Gore would be considered for a cabinet post if he wins the presidency. MSNBC’s Alex Witt talks with NBC’s Mark Murray.

WALLINGFORD, Pa. - Democrat Barack Obama said Wednesday he talks regularly with former vice president Al Gore and would consider putting him in a Cabinet-level position or higher.

A woman at a town hall asked the Illinois senator if elected president would he consider tapping the former vice president for his Cabinet, or an even higher level office, to address global warming.

"I would," Obama said. "Not only will I, but I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He's somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I'm already consulting with him in terms of these issues, but climate change is real. It is something we have to deal with now, not 10 years from now, not 20 years from now."

Not necessarily offering him a cabinet position.

7. HE's inviting Mr. Gore to the table? What arrogance.
Mr. corn ethanol? Mr. nuclear? Mr, I voted for the 2005 energy bill to give more subsidies to oil companies, the nuclear lobby, and Archer Daniels Midland? Mr. Gore has also BEEN at the table and started the discussion. Where have the rest of them been? This is just a sneaky backhanded way to fish for votes in the next primary by using Al Gore's name. Neither he NOR Hillary Clinton should be talking about any cabinet positions yet since no one has been nominated yet. Unless he already knows that whoever is stealing it this time is going to do it for him. And it was wrong of Obama to even bring Mr. Gore's name into this when he is now launching an important ad campaign that is NON partisan and his station is going public. But that's a politician for you. Always thinking of themselves. And please, "we talk all of the time." What a player. I hope Mr. Gore stays far away from all of this crap.

8. So you'd rather Gore not consult Obama on issues?

They've been having conversations, you don't know what's been going on between them.

9. And neither do you
But I sure do think that Obama was totally soliciting his endorsement or superdelegate vote. And that I find to be very sneaky.

11. I wish he did more on Apple's board of directors before people got on Apple's case...
Particularly Greenpeace, and it seems Apple got its rear in gear thanks to that organization and the response of their customers, and not anybody on Apple's board of directors.

More on Apple's history of non-doing

Might be why Al isn't running either?

Flame away, but I'd rather see more that shows he's genuine, and not just "carbon credits", which seem to be no different than "credit cards".

Forgive me for being skeptical, but Mayor Bloomberg has addressed global warming more directly. I know replacing gas guzzler taxis with hybrids isn't much, but you won't read the word "credits" anywhere. He's paying upfront to avoid painful interest.
