We're all a bunch of animals. Throughout this campaign,
we've been snarling and biting and clawing and kicking till sometimes it seems we're in danger of ripping each other -- and our candidates -- to shreds.

If Obama, or anyone else, wants to lead us, good luck -- it's like herding a bunch of cats.

This isn't anything new. It happens at least every four years.

I'm proud that we're a party of independent thinkers -- not hypnotized fundie masses. Often I wish we could treat each other more respectfully, though.

And then I remind myself that at least we're acting like animals.

I'd rather be like a feisty cat or dog any day than one of those mindless Rethug robots.

1. Proud to be the first to K&R!
Animals... some of us are freaking pitbulls who clamp the jaws down on something and can't see past anything in their desire to keep the jaws clamped.

I think there is a lot of Kool Aid poisoning being played out here.

I don't care who wins the nom... I'll hold my nose and vote for the Dem.

2. Thank you, Juniperx! Yes some of us are pitbulls.
I hope, during the general election, the pitbulls among us are sensible enough to clamp down on McCain just as hard as they are currently clamping on the other Democrat.

7. I agree! In fact, I'll take that one step further...
Instead of eating our own, everyone should turn on McCain now! There's no rule that says we can't do that until our nominee is chosen!

3. "Feisty" isn't the word I'd choose. "Psychopathic"? Better. n/t

4. You're saying I'd rather be psychopathic? Hmmm . . .
I'm not so sure about that.

;)

5. Packs of wolves attack prey.
Bison circle their young.

If Bison were DU'ers, they'd encourage their fellow bison to become wolves.

Psychopathic.

6. Wolf, cat, bison, dog -- even human -- I'd rather be any of these
than a mindless robot.

8. Perhaps.
But there are times when being surrounded by placid robots is preferable.

11. Yes, that is something on which we agree. If I am going to be surrounded
I'd rather it be by placid robots.

Unfortunately, there are also killer robots. That's the kind we seem to have now in the Rethug party.

12. Neither will be able to lead without a unity ticket in my mind, if it keeps going the way it is.

13. Why do you hate robots?
At least robots have logic circuits and will objectively analyze data. As the robots said in "For Breath I tarry."

"'Stop! said Frost. "Have you no pity?"
'No,' said Mordel, 'I know only measurement.'
'... and duty,' he added ..." "The Last Defender of Camelot" p. 244

However, as Asimov wrote in "Reason"

"'No,' said Powell bitterly, 'he's a reasoning robot - damn it. He believes only reason, and there's one trouble with that - ' His voice trailed away.
'What's that?' prompted Donovan.
'You can prove anything you want by coldly logical reason - if you pick the proper postulates. We have ours and Cutie has his.
'Then let's get at those postulates in a hurry. The storm's due tomorrow.'
Powell sighed wearily. "That's where everything falls down. Postulates are based on assumptions and adhered to by faith. Nothing in the Universe can shake them. I'm going to bed.'
'Oh, hell! I can't sleep!'
'Neither can I! But I might as well try - as a matter of principle.'
"The Complete Robot" pp 240-41

Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto.

14. It's really not that different from any campaign I've seen before.
The only difference now is the speed of response time that the internet allows. But it's basically the same. Doesn't really bother me too often, unless I'm already in a crabby mood. :)
