"Obama can't win....Obama can't win...Obama can't win...Obama can't win..
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 09:33 AM by kentuck
Say that over and over and think that it will not have any impact on voters, especially those that may be sitting on the fence. This is the new strategy of Hillary Clinton. It smells of some desperation. One wonders if there might not be some internal poll numbers behind this psychological attack? And that is what it is. An attempt to persuade people not to vote for Obama because he "cannot win". Admittedly, the same thing was said about Hillary, earlier in the campaign. However, at this late stage of the campaign, it takes on much broader significance.

This is a dangerous intersection for Obama to cross. He either fights fire with fire and responds that it is Hillary that doesn't have a chance to win and that these type of comments smack of desperation? Or he can ignore the comments and let the voters absorb them without context? That is a gamble, in my opinion. If Obama does not respond to these comments, he may lose much of the gains he has made in the last few days?

(Also, on edit)

Why didn't Obama's Secret Service protection step in to protect him from the asshole that was clearly and intentionally attempting to intimidate or threaten Obama yesterday with his picture-taking? His aggressive nature should not have been taken so lightly, in my opinion.

3. Apparently his donors think he can win.
Hillary floats a new line of "attack" every freaking day. It's. Not. Working.

That's why she's picked up exactly one superdelegate in two months. She has yet to find a single argument that sticks to Obama.

5. I think his silence speaks volumes and makes her look like the
desperate person she is. The attack mode is in evidence; too bad she can't actually run on her (fabricated:think:) record.

9. Frantically desperate.
Hillary is looking more and more everyday like a slow motion train wreck.

Obama and his supporters need to stand clear as she and her husband self-destruct.

10. READ THIS:
From Mike Allen @ Politico.com:

"THE ARGUMENT — George Stephanopoulos on "World News": "Sources with direct knowledge of the conversation between Sen. Clinton and Gov. Bill Richardson … prior to the governor's endorsement of Obama, say she told him flatly, 'He cannot win, Bill. He cannot win.' "

It gets a Drudge banner and is the cover of the N.Y. Post: " 'Obama can't win' - Hill made brazen claim to sway Barack backer."

***PLAYBOOK EXCLUSIVE - PAUL HARVEY'S THE REST OF THE STORY: It turns out it was Governor Richardson who told the Clintons that he did not think Obama could win when he promised them he would not endorse Obama. According to a source with knowledge of the conversation, the governor said then that Obama was too inexperienced."

11. Contrary to what some rose-colored glasses folks say...
This is powerful propaganda which must be exposed. We cannot assume all the voters in PA are as solid for Obama as the supporters on DU.

Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 10:47 AM by VolcanoJen
... a bunch of whiny-ass babies. Seriously. They need to Let. It. Go.

Why on earth would they think attacking Bill Richardson would win them votes, let alone superdelegates? Good Gawd.

12. I am still pissed over the Secret Service letting the clown get so close.
I have written to Dick Durbin as well as the campaign expressing my concern.

I never want to see a psycho get that close to the (hopefully soon-to-be) President again.

Apparently the guy interrupted Barack while he was interacting with some youngsters--and Barack had a right to be irritated...

19. Eh,
I think it's Clinton who wouldn't win. My God, I think she'd be blown away in the general election. The right would trot out (gleefully) every single thing they could going back years and years and years and there's unfortunately TONS of material they could use. They'd scare the shit out of the voters about a Hillary presidency and motivate them to the polls like never before.

I always felt it was a horrendously bad idea for her to run for president. Horrendously bad.

26. Ask republicans who would be
The best dem to beat, and you will get Hillary. There are many conservatives that won't vote this year for McCain, they will stay home, UNLESS Hillary is the dem's nominee, then they will hold their nose and vote for McCain! She gets the republican vote out better than any other strategy they have this year. Any ticket with Hillary on it is going to lose in my opinion.
