Why is Hillary too much of a coward and refuses to appear on the Hardball PA College Tour?
Hillary supporters...if your candidate is so strong and right on the issues (and confident about her lead in PA), then why is her campaign actively ducking participation in the PA Hardball College Tour. Sure, Tweety Matthews is a jerk, but Obama appeared and went under the firing squad of pointed questions from Tweety and unplanned questions from the college audience. So, if your "girl" is so tough, why isn't she doing the same??

during a debate, or extended interview, she is going to get hammered for the Bosnia lie, and in the interest of total disclosure, she'll have to admit her campaign is a diaper-load of lies.

8. Is there some link about her dodging Hardball?
Edited on Thu Apr-03-08 09:49 AM by dsc
Incidently this is the very same Matthew who behaved this way.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200801110011

On the September 12, 2007, edition of Hardball, Matthews began an interview with right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham by stating: "You are -- I'm not allowed to say this, but I'll say it -- you're beautiful and you're smart. And you've got a huge radio audience." When the interview ended, he asked: "Can I sing your praises?" adding, "I get in trouble for this, but you're great looking, obviously. You're one of the gods' gifts to men in this country. But also, you are a hell of a writer."

During the interview, Matthews also stated: "But it is interesting; all day long on this network and others, I'm seeing pictures of Britney Spears. ... She is showing no talent. She's showing her body. She's obviously a good-looking young woman, wearing very little."
On the August 10, 2007, edition of Hardball, during a discussion of financial news, Matthews told CNBC's Erin Burnett, "You're beautiful," and, "You're a knockout," before closing the interview by saying, "It's all right getting bad news from you." Matthews also asked Burnett: "Could you get a little closer to the camera?" Burnett replied, "My -- what is it?" Matthews then said: "Come on in closer. No, come in -- come in further -- come in closer. Really close." After Burnett began to comply, Matthews stated, "Just kidding! You look great! Anyway, thanks, Erin, it's great to -- look at that look. You're great."

A few days later, according to a "Page Six" article in the New York Post, Matthews "told Page Six he was only fooling around with Burnett because the camera lens had already made her appear closer than usual. 'It was this weird fishbowl look. ... I was just kidding around.' "
During MSNBC's April 26, 2007, coverage of the first Democratic presidential debate, Matthews discussed the "cosmetics" of the evening. In doing so, he complimented Michelle Obama's pearl necklace and declared that she "looked perfect," "well-turned out ... attractive -- classy, as we used to say. Like Frank Sinatra, 'classy.' "

Matthews said: "Some people are, by the way, just watching tonight. They stopped listening a half-hour in, and they noticed how pretty she is -- Michelle -- and they said, 'I like the fact he's got this pretty wife. He's happily married. I like that.' They like the fact that Hillary was demure, lady-like in her appearance." When NBC chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell interjected, noting "You're talking about two ... lawyers," who went to "Harvard and Yale," Matthews responded, "Cosmetics are a part of this game."

end of quote

Trust me there are oodles more.

Matthews is a sexist pig who hates Hillary. I wouldn't go on his show if I were her.

18. Your logic is TRAGICALLY FLAWED. Are you saying that Fox News and Sciafe have been friendly?
If your logic holds that Hillary won't appear on the PA Hardball College Tour because Matthews has been hard upon her, then how to you explain her courting and appearing with people like Richard Mellon Sciafe, who has called her FAR WORSE THINGS and even accused her and her husband of murder? How do you explain her appearing with regularity now on Faux News, which has been anything but antagonistic to her...until recently (because they want the Repukes to run against her)?

Where's the consistency in your argument? Or, is that just a convenient psychological defense mechanism when your candidate doesn't have the guts necessary to stand up for herself.

If she can't stand up to Tweety, then why would we expect her to stand up against our enemies abroad?

26. actually I was answering two different issues
I have yet to see a link saying she is dodging hardball. But that said, there is a difference between an interview for a newspaper and one for TV. TV interviews always help ratings and thus shouldn't be handed out willy nilly. She probably shouldn't go on Fox, but then neither should Obama have gone on Fox. But the newspaper I have no real problem with. I am still waiting for the link.

24. Again. Same question. If she will appear on Faux News and with Sciafe, then why not Matthews?
I know the pretzel logic required to address the question is difficult, but please try to explain why she will appear with people and on venues that in the past have ACCUSED HER OF MURDER, yet she won't appear on Matthews (who may be antagonistic, but not to that level by any means)?

11. Bullshit. Tweety is an equal opportunity Dem basher. Plus, he was high on Hillary early on.
Tweety was pushing a Hillary vs. Guiliani race a full year before even the primaries were on the radar screen. He has been equally hard on both her and Obama, but if you want to use that excuse as a psychological defense to protect your investment in "COWARD" Clinton, that's fine.

Your argument that she won't appear because Matthews is supposedly antagonistic is BULLSHIT. She's been courting favor and appearing in venues and with people, who in the past ACCUSED HER OF MURDER. WTF?

17. Maybe she will! But if not
I wouldn't blame her after all that Tweety said about her and his bias attitude toward her. It took no courage for Obie to go on a COLLEGE tour
with Matthews. That's his base. It would be like going right into the lions mouth to go on that show with his audience.

Their first questioner would probably ask if she would iron his shirt. Tweety would have excuse himself for a minute while he relieves himself of that feeling in his leg again as he listens to the sweet sound of booing. The second would ask...Why didn't you divorce Bill? The third would be...Do you still hate Monica? The 4th would be...Can you sleep at night knowing you are responsible for killing 4011 American soldiers and hundreds of Iraqi men woman and children? 5th...Why don't you drop dead...er...I mean out? Can't you hear the loud boos in the background close up to the microphone...just like they did to Dean?

If she goes on his show...you got to admit she's fearless and deserves to be president.

It's impossible to reason with people who think like you.

After hearing some of Matthews comments (like the ones he had to apologize for) you still can't see that would be setting herself up for ten thousand Utube videos for the rest of the primary?

23. Matthews has REPEATEDLY tried to get her on the Tour, but so far NOTHING.
I suspect it's because the Clinton campaign wants to micro manage everything and train up their college student audience "ringer" respondents. Remember early in this primary process, when Clinton was CAUGHT RED HANDED rigging questions from the audience. She'll try to do the same thing here, but if she can't then she apparently just won't appear. A true profile in courage.
