Obama Outraises Clinton 2-1 in March

Obama Outraises Clinton 2-1 in March

By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer
Thu Apr 3, 7:21 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama raked in $40 million in March, leaving Hillary Rodham Clinton and her $20 million in the fundraising dust and stuffing his campaign treasury so he can outspend her in the crucial Pennsylvania primary.

His haul in new donations also buttressed his argument to Democratic superdelegates that he has built a vast network of donors and volunteers that they wouldn't want to lose by denying him the nomination.

Obama has attracted nearly 1.3 million donors, largely through the Internet.

He has raised $131 million in just the first three months of this year to $70 million for Clinton. Republican John McCain's campaign has not revealed his March fundraising, but he has been far behind the Democrats, raising less than $23 million in January and February combined.

2. And if the $12 million she's in debt is removed
That leaves a net of $8 million left after March.

(Provided she pays those bills instead of letting them slide more.)

6. How much of this was lockboxed for the General and how much can she use in the primary bills
In addition has she done any loaning again or was this actually "RAISED", remember they reported that 5 million dollar loan as part of her fund raising total in January.

8. By any chance do you have an article that cites the $12 million in debt?
I hadn't heard that figure before.

14. Plus you need to remove any donations she got for the GE. She can't spend that in the primary.
She has a much smaller donor base than Obama, meaning that most of her donors are maxed out. The only way they get around that is to give to her GE fund. So, her monthly numbers get inflated, they get a refund if she doesn't make it. This is exactly what she did last month. She gives the gross number, but doesn't release the actual split until the 20th. She's in a serious financial hole and I don't see how she effectively competes in the next primaries.

15. So's she.... he went from 55 to 40... she went from 35 to 20....
.... a much bigger percentage drop than her.

By the way... Obama's March total is the second-largest total by ANY CANDIDATE in this campaign cycle. Hillary's BEST month doesn't touch Barack's March.
