Damn Obama....
Every time I watch one of his appearances, I want to send him money. But I can't send him money a few times a week, so I generally restrain myself. Plus I keep getting these emails from him and these make me want to send money too.

Last night, I watched his recent Hardball appearance. Damn, I was impressed once again and could no longer resist. I sent money.

I am such a fool. Despite decades of disappointment, I have this stupid, idealistic vision that Obama can actually be elected our President and I can actually help make it happen.

I imagine Obama debating McCain, and I can't help but see him making McCain look like an old, tired has-been, full of failed ideas and policies. I imagine people actually rallying around Obama, a black man no less. Am I an idiot or what?

Despite my efforts to convince myself that there is no way in hell that this country can elect a black man with a name like Osama bin Laden/Saddam Hussain, I keep thinking that it is not only possible but that it is not even unlikely. Please smack me in the head and knock some sense into me.

I don't think there is any question that he'll be our nominee. So just seven more months until my childlike idealism is either finally rewarded or once again smashed into an ugly reality.

Damn that Obama....

5. My wingnut coworker just said that it's disgusting that we're in a recession...
... and all the poor people that support Obama still gave him money, and that he's a bamboozler.

I asked her if she was concerned that McSame was exploring public campaign financing in light of the Democrats' crushing him in fundraising. :-) She got all pissy. Damn, I love baiting her!

it is much easier to say Fuck it, its never going to get any better. It is what it is. That audacity to hope shit is for the birds. Give me any white person who has never lived down here among the little people. Give me some old time division, greed and injustice any day..that I know how to deal with.

I've donated $10 at times.
When I can't give more at the time, but feel like I need to send a little donation... I send $10. Drip, drip... it all adds up, I just spread it out over the month. Sometimes more - other times a little.

Maybe what makes real change is US, not our leaders. A good leader can get us to move as a group toward better things, but it is us that has to move.

And not autopay. I can do this all the way through November and never exceed the personal limit. This is how campaign fundr aising should be done. That way, our candidate receives continued and consistent dollars.
