I found these on Media Matters, where you know they have contact information so you can fire off an angry e-mail. I know I have done that many times when I found these part-time comedians spewing racist, gender, disability, jokes. Missing from Media Matters is comedian Randi Rhodes remarks about Sen. Clinton. Why is that?

At any rate, I support Randi Rhodes 100% because these right-wing radio comedians get to keep their jobs no matter what they say, so Randi should keep hers as well. And I promise to never fire off another e-mail from the Media Matters website because to do so would be hypocritical.

were on air. I haven't seen the clip and don't really care to. I'm a Randi fan from way back and I'll admit that she rubs me the wrong way just like pretty much everyone does at some time. I'm sure that most of the world would feel the same way about me.
I can cut AAR some slack because she was representing the network at an affiliate event. Randi's a pretty smart cookie, but I don't think even she would have put a clause in her contract to limit retribution for statements made in any venue.
The thing that pisses me most about the situation is that it's another step towards squelching free speech. It may be backstage and not in your face, but it's an effort to limit free speech.

I know this only because I worked in radio for 8 years. She is a representative of AAR, and there are somethings that can be taken out of a contract, but behavior outside the station is important, especially if that outside the station event that is linked to the network or affiliate in any way.
