Clinton on ND Delegates
Apr 4 2008 1:12PM
KXMBTV Bismarck

The war of words continues between the two Democratic Presidential Candidates Barack Obama and Hillary CLinton and now North Dakota is being brought into the fight.

Thursday Clinton said North Dakota's delegates should be discounted because North Dakota traditional votes republican in the Presidential Election.

Clinton says she has won the states that vote Democratic in November and the states she didn't win typically go to Republicans.

(snip)

During a conference call Senior Advisor for Obama's campaign Dan Hannaher says Clinton's remarks are not only disrespectful to states but to Democrats everywhere.

61. They are talking about how the PARTY assigns delegate numbers and the anchors are DUMB.
you people are friggin crazy.

The DNC assigns the numbers of delegates each state gets by how consistently it votes Democrat, not based on pop, electoral college, etc, but how BLUE that state is.

that is what she was talking about and the anchors are morons and didnt understand.

these things were said. Perhaps taken out of context from post-Super Tuesday talk, and reprinted now out of context to confuse things prior to the convention.

64. There is still no source
They're not saying anything about who gave them the information, etc. Journalists usually try to verify something like this from at least 2 reputable sources. They don't even mention having a single source, only a "rumor". Repeating rumors is not journalism, nor is it reliable information.

Unless the April 4 article is bogus, there is an abundance of April 3 info that the Clintons made a big push to grab more delegates in ND. If today's article is true, the obvious read would bitterness from the failure to gain anything.

charm to f'n "woo anybody". Yeah, we wanna go with "Liar".

Some may see this as a questionable political move, but a campaign spokesman for Clinton said the practice was “common,” pointing to final delegate counts in Iowa as an example, where Obama ended up with more delegates than originally expected. Similarly in Texas, Clinton ended up getting more delegates to switch over to her side than the campaign had planned for.

That's a pretty dubious report about Texas when Obama won the most delegates so why not just say it?

Concentrate on three states that swing elections, fuck all else.

That's what we had before Howard Dean took over the DNC. It didn't work. In fact it failed repeatedly. But like Bob Shrum once said - "seventh time's a charm".

I fear both could very well take the Dems down in defeat. You really think Obama will carry Wyoming. I don't think so. we need rile the Democratic base and add in the independents who normally don't vote. Its the process that renders us losers. Yes, we do need a totally reformed process that turns the primary process away from a horse race, into something more democratic.

The democratic party assigns the number of delegates not on population, or electoral votes, but on how consistently democratic they vote.

Hey, mine doesn't count anymore either, I guess. It's one of those "boutique" states I'm sure. Latte-sipping liberals, Birkenstocks, blah blah. ;)

:wow:

She made a similar comment about Texas on Texas Monthly's Burka Blog, but the MSM ignored it.

98. Presidential campaign aside, this is a good example of why HC is bad ...
... for promoting the 50 State Strategy and down-ticket support. Hillary has dissed far too many states as irrelevant in her effort to contort her way to the nomination.

Delayed by SniperFire(tm)? <That's now officially a "joke" - right?

In other news: Her health care plan from to '90s STILL hasn't arrived.
