Do you trust your favored candidate?
Well I wanted this to be a poll, but I'm not a donating member.

I'll pose my question anyway. If some nice donating member makes it a poll I'd be very happy.

First a little math:

Of course you can argue about a number of factors, such as each candidate's actual support and how many voters will do what they say. I figured half would follow through, but since a defection is worth double to the Republicans (-1 for us, +1 for them = an net 2 loss for us) I decided that was a wash. We could sincerely and usefully debate the particulars of these numbers, but I think the essential stakes are made clear with the simple calculation.

So here's the question:

Imagine you had Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton (as Hillary's second) and Deval Patrick (as Obama's second) all together in a room with a whiteboard.

Imagine they are asked to suggest a ticket (not including Hillary or Barack) that the most delegates could get behind, a ticket they could all endorse.

Do you trust your favored candidate's skill and intention to serve your interests?

1. Let the debate begin.
I think it would be best for the party to have a brokered convention.

My favored candidate wouldn't be in that room by the way.

3. I almost posted a poll for you, but if he/she is your favored candidate,
at this point I'd think you'd have to trust them, even if I think you are very, very wrong.

4. So please post it and then we'll do a follow up...
which would be:

Do you think the resulting ticket would win?

or

Do you think the resulting ticket would have better chances of winning?

or perhaps

Do you think the resulting ticket would have bigger coattails?

Please don't refrain from posting a poll because of my preference - I stated it so my biases would be out in the open. My true bias is in favor of a democratic victory, not a particular person.

5. oops!
Just realized I actually didn't name my favored candidate.

Would you mind if I held off for a while to see what people say?

11. Why would my favored candidate be my favored candidate if I did not trust that person?
Do a lot of people have a favored candidate that they do not trust?

13. I sort of trusted DK. I was willing to give Edwards a chance against my better judgment.
Now I think it's shark against shark and I don't trust either.
