Obama Adviser Calls for Troops To Stay in Iraq Through 2010

By ELI LAKE, STAFF REPORTER OF THE SUN | April 4, 2008

WASHINGTON — A key adviser to Senator Obama’s campaign is recommending in a confidential paper that America keep between 60,000 and 80,000 troops in Iraq as of late 2010, a plan at odds with the public pledge of the Illinois senator to withdraw combat forces from Iraq within 16 months of taking office.

Yeah, maybe that's why Obama favors elder Bushes policies.

What's the difference between Obama and the republican foreign policy; clue---there is none.

Clinton should get on ball and address this immediately!!!!!

2. The article goes on to say that it's the adviser's opinion and not the official campaign position.

16. the "Sun's" links are useless, the "opinion" was probably on a damn sticky note somewhere
I did some research, since the piece of shit Sun didn't have the "opinion"
linked to their shitty website, and found out that this
guy is an academic who writes shit all the time.

It isn't something Obama asked for, its not part of the campaign,
the guy WRITES.

10. Instead of wasting your time
posting on the DU, try catching up with news. This is making headlines all over cable and newspapers.

7. SO: if Obama takes office in January 2009, promises to
withdraw troops from Iraq in 16 months......that would make it around the middle of 2010, and allowing for logistics to get everyone out.....late 2010.....unless I am missing something.....

more specious bullshit from the sniper fire dodging book bag tossers......

8. So basicaly you are trying to spin...

the fact that Obama has an adviser that he doesn't agree with on Iraq?

You can't attack Obama's policies, so attack one of his advisers' policies.

You can't attack Obama's words, so attack his pastor's words.

Obama: My foreign policy would be like that of elder Bush, JFK, Reagan

The Associated Press
Saturday, March 29, 2008

GREENSBURG, Pa.: Sen. Barack Obama said Friday he would return the country to the more "traditional" foreign policy efforts of past presidents, such as George H.W. Bush, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

At a town hall event at a local high school gymnasium, Obama praised George H.W. Bush — father of the president — for the way he handled the Persian Gulf War: with a large coalition and carefully defined objectives. . . .

20. No, But Obama's
aligning himself with Reagan politics is well known.

Seems Obama likes to name drop more republicans than democrats. Instead of building up our democratic party, he sides more than the republicans.

Speaking of JFK; wasn't that JFK airlifting story of Obama's debunked.
