Once this race is over, I'll remember Hillary Clinton as
the person that gave a stirring and important speech in China about human rights, as the incredibly tough person that endured one of the most public personal humiliations imaginable and came out the other side, as a person that has fought hard for children here and around the world, as a strong and important advocate of the Democratic Party, as somebody that helped to lay the ground work for improving this nations health care system, as the person that really proved to many in this nation that a woman could be just as serious a contender for the office of the President as any man. The ground work she has laid out in many areas has been and will continue to be important.

I'll remember the bad that comes with the good as well. I'll remember why I choose not to support her for the Democratic nomination for the office of the President this year - but I will not allow this race to make me forget all the good things she has done and is capable of still doing.

1. I do appreciate the tone of your post and I am not a Clinton supporter at all.
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 01:20 PM by blm
I only see the bad of the Clintons and Bushes that far outweighs the few good things because it led to so much tragedy and death that didn't have to happen.

But, I did think of Clintons more like you do not so long ago and understand the genuine feelings in your post.

2. It's not as though she won't be able to do GREAT things for America if she doesn't win.
Unless being vindictive is more important than solving problems.

13. McCain and Obama - that is a tough choice for many center left Democrats that do not
believe Obama believes a word he says after the 3 chief adviser problems he has had - a Canadian gov memo that reveals threats to end NAFTA if not changed are bogus, the interview with Kudlow - CNBC that revealed there was no cost to the Obama Health and other social programs because Obama did not expect them to pass, and the out of Iraq in 16 months that the interview with the EU paper reveal to be not in the cards and that he - after mocking Hillary's talk to advisors and order a plan up to fet out as soon as possible - has Ms Powers tell the EU that his plan is actually the same as Hillary's - there is no 16 months and out.

23. interesting points
none of the 3 left, esp. mccain, are the best we have to offer, however, saying it's a 'tough choice' between bomb-bomb-bomb boy and a candidate who's issues score matches up to my leftist beliefs near perfectly, is unfair. I know he's not that experienced, and his words sometimes aren't the best when being questioned, but I feel the best between the Bush-Clinton dynasty candidate, and McSame...

31. I trust Obama's top advisors like Kerry more than Clintons' advisors like Penn.
But then, I am an open government Democrat who is NOT enamoured of the closed government Democrats you support.

6. I will have to chalk up all my good memories of her to misremembrances
because she is not the person that she claimed to be, and I believed her to be, in the past.
the clintons are far closer to the style and tactics of the BFEE than any other democrat that I know of.

19. well if THAT doesn't say it succinctly - nothing does.
I don't like her at ALL after this primary run, where she has said some very overboard comments about Obama and embarrassed herself, and Bill as tarnished his own legacy as a respected president with some racist overtures.

Ground work for improving this nation's health care system??

Kind of like the ground work George did in New Orleans that has led to a lot of new construction?

26. I will remember her by her actions after Obama takes the nom and becomes Pres.
If she is to preserve any of her integrity it will come with her loyal support to Barack as Pres. If she works to undermine him in his Presidency then her political career will be remembered as a bitter person. In addition I will never hold her in as high esteem as I once did. Again time will tell by her behavior during his time as Pres.
