Democrats, here are your marching orders.
Enough of this crap. Candidates cannot be held responsible for the childish behaviour of their supporters, most of whom they don't even know exist. So:

Obama supporters, if your candidate fails to be nominated, no, you will not pull the lever for Grumpy McAlzheimer; no, you will not sit out the election in protest; yes, you will vote for Clinton along with the rest of the Democratic Party.

Clinton supporters, if your candidate fails to be nominated, no, you will not pull the lever for Old Man McCancer; no, you will not sit out the election in protest; yes, you will vote for Obama along with the rest of the Democratic Party.

Is that... clear...?

1. It's sad that you even need to make this post.
Anybody that doesn't vote Democratic in November is a pathetic loser.

7. It's even sadder that I need to post this as a Canadian.
As a nation, we're even more virulently anti-Republican than most Americans. Chimpy has had an approval rating of 15 per cent here since way back in 2003. We don't really care which Democrat makes it to the White House, so long as the Party of Bush is purged from office and rendered unable to make SCOTUS appointments. That also goes for Congress. You need supermajorities in both houses in order to dismantle and demolish everything done by the PNAC.

2. Naturally, if you are on the multiple "ignore" lists, nobody you want to reach will read this.
I am sensing more and more that this is a problem. I think so many have been put on "ignore" that we can't reach each other anymore. I put nobody on ignore, ever. I can take whatever is dished out.

I'm pretty sure I'm on a lot of pro-Hillary ignore lists, however. Hope your post gets seen. Good luck.

4. I get the feeling no matter how many times well-meaning posts like this
are made it'll never get through to many until the nominee is announced... and even then, many on the losing side will have granite pizza melt downs.
Things should get better here when we can start fighting McSame instead of each other.

5. Yes!
I have stated repeatedly that I'll vote for the nominee.

I've started threads chiding those who refuse to do so.

HOWEVER... I have been toying with the idea that, since I live in TX... I might vote green IF and only IF this state is nowhere near being in play... which I expect will be the case... again. That's a pretty reasonable thing to do, I think.

8. I really know how you feel. I'm in AZ.
My vote won't count for much here other than as a protest vote.

:banghead: <--- That's me when McSame got the nom for the reps.

9. What's the point of this whole thing if we don't unify at the end
We're hampering ourselves against McCain right out of the gate. Surely people realize that we'll need significant chunks of the other side to have the best chance of winning. In my opinion it won't matter if HRC or obama, win if enough democrats don't come together to fight McCain. The question is are both sides willing to commit to this from NOW, before anymore divisiveness, spite, or ill-will fester in the months ahead. A "simultaneous" commitment of help and support from one side, in exchange for that support from the other, sprung from a recognition that united we stand, divided we fall. I joke around here a lot but, this is my serious take on the matter, submitted for you evaluation.

Or however you spell it.

Myself, I was so happy to see the roster of candidates that we had to choose from, and plan on supporting Clinton if Obama isn't the nominee.

23. No. I will not vote for a pathological liar like clinton.
Edited on Sat Apr-05-08 10:02 PM by Zhade
I don't endorse liars, I don't give a FUCK if you insist that I do, I WILL NOT DO IT.

But, since she won't be getting the nom, it's a moot point. I will vote for Obama.

25. Now, see, that's not particularly helpful.
I'm not crazy about Hillary Clinton, for the most part because I don't think the US should have political dynasties (BushClintonBushClinton...), but also because of her voting for the Iraq War Resolution and for keeping land mines and cluster bombs. On the other hand, I'm not crazy about Barack Obama either, because he voted to confirm Condoleezza Rice for reasons I assume have more to do with racial solidarity than any merit on her part. And there's the McClurkin ex-gay millstone around his neck as well. Other than that, either candidate is far superior to some superannuated, hot-headed warmonger.

Let me put it this way: if gay and lesbian Americans are prepared to find themselves yet again under the bus and vote for a candidate who considers gays and lesbians to be second-class citizens and thus not deserving of equal marriage rights -- unlike, say, Dennis Kucinich, who is in favour -- then I think you can easily hold your nose (rather than cutting it off to spite Hillary's face) and vote for whichever nominee the party decides on.

It's incredibly important to me not to endorse liars.

If only this country had been ready for DK.

Classy, real classy.

I don't like the man, but making fun of him because he had cancer? Really fucking shitt.

30. Not making fun. It's a serious issue.
If he chooses someone like Abner Huckabee for his running mate, then wins, and then has a fatal relapse after a couple of years, your country won't be a very pretty place. People who have had particularly virulent forms of cancer, such as melanoma, are too much of a health risk to become president.

And yes, he's also too old -- practically Andropov&Chernenko-old, or Mao&Chou-old. I realize that in the Supreme Soviet, McCain would have been considered a young man, but the last time you had a gerontocrat in the White House, you got "My fellow Americans, I’m pleased to tell you today that I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."
