Could all of the people from either side who swear they won't vote for Obama or Clinton please explain that to me.
And please...don't tell me about all the same corporate candidate stuff. I'm a Kucinich guy and I know all about that. To a degree that's certainly true. But if you insist there is no difference as in NO difference between McCain and the other two you're simply fooling yourself. People who voted for Nader in 2000 said the same thing about Gore/Bush.
McCain--if he's anything--is four more years of Bush.
So put your fragile emotions aside and please explain to me how that benefits your kids or grandkids or you. How do four more Bush years help anything? Is there some satisfaction in that? Is it worth it?
Lay the health care plans side by side--if you can figure out what McCain's is. We know it does not include pre-existing conditions and really doesn't do much of anything.
Me? I'm for single payer but like it or not---that's not coming right now, but we can make a bad situation worse, or try to get some small relief. I don't particularly like either Obama or Clinton's plan but it's a step in the direction of some type of reform.
MCain doesn't give you that.
Like the war? You'll love McCain. Neither Clinton or Obama are bringing the troops home when they take the oath. But they will at least START that process.
McCain is going the other way. If that doesn't scare the shit out of you, by all means stay home and tell yourself there was NO DIFFEREBCE.
Live with that. But don't lie to yourself later.
Want the Bush tax cuts permanent? Go right ahead. The wealthy will love you for it. They may even send you a Christmas card.
So go ahead. Fight, argue. Stay home. But please don't come back here crying about how bad McCain is or how it was Obama or Clinton's fault that YOU were forced to sit out the election.
Corporate candidates? Yep....I agree with that. Both of them.
Better than McCain? Absolutely.
This country is in serious trouble. SERIOUS trouble. It can't afford you to stay home. Take that anger and direct it where it belongs---toward the right. I hold many Dems responsible for this mess as well, but I have zero doubt that if Gore had been in office we would NOT be in Iraq.
Okay...you may return to your personal, petty emotional war now.
Good luck with that.
