Good news sure travels fast.

Here's the song I'm drinking too. I know it's kind of perverted to drink to this but it's such a happy song :hi:

8. Are people really that politically inept and stupid?
No, they are asked to leave and if they don't they are fired.

Most times, people leave. It's not a yes or no proposition.

meantime, Hillary didn't realize till now what a scum this guy was. So at the 11th hour, it dawns on her. Kind of like trusting Bush with her war vote, hey?

29. WHY did it take all of SIX DAYS?
He met with Columbia folks on Monday.... did she not know about it on Tues?

Oh, I remember, it was those damn UNIONS!!!!!!!!!!! They told her to let him go on Thurs. But she waited another 3 days?

O OK.

Is this sort of like Bush playing guitar while New Orleans drowned?

34. This is why it is good...
...it should never have happend.

Once it did, it should have been handled immediately.

Since it wasn't, it shows to whomever is looking, that this is a really, really badly handled campaign - that they aren't being honest and are not smart enough to get their stories straight.

Now, whatever Mark Penn touches will be questioned (I hope) and THAT is good for the country.

16. The whole question will be: what doesn "resigned" mean here?
Clinton people will be inclined to take it at face value, ask no questions, and bitch at those who do ask questions.
Obama people will ask questions, assume the worst, and bitch at anybody who doesn't also assume the worst.

17. Will he be blamed for everything that went wrong with her campaign......?
if so, that would be wrong. She is the responsible party, IMO. IF she picked this bad of a strategist, then it says more about her than it does about him.

52. She is also responsible because her campaign was just another...
typical spin and throw shit at the wall campaign and her and her people didn't realize that allot of Americans are waking up and actually driving the car again. They just expected Americans to believe everything thrown out and to just follow the media like sheep like we typically do and it backfired on them. Now its divide and conquer time, need to at least get the elites second choice, McCain in office!

38. This is even better than I thought....
...if they were going to cut him loose, that would make sense.

They are keeping him as a pollster (a la Dick Morris) and they are losing an opportunity to reject the guy out of hand. Now they are still paying him (probably can't afford it) and are still associated with a guy who can continue to get paid while lobbying against the candidate (seemingly).

36. From the article, it appears he may not be going anywhere
"After the events of the last few days, Mark Penn has asked to give up his role as Chief Strategist of the Clinton Campaign; Mark, and Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates, Inc. will continue to provide polling and advice to the campaign," Clinton Campaign Manager Maggie Williams said in a statement.

but welcome just the same. Any bets on who will replace him as "chief strategist"? I hope they have more sense than to pick James Carville.

On edit: Geoff Garin and Howard Wolfson will replace Penn. At least they did not pick Carville.

It is great because it will help democrats overall. However, Clinton might move in a better fashion now that could recover her loss in the polls.

48. Good for the Clinton Campaign. I would say bad if they didn't, so I have to
say good that they did (can him). Also, good for us all, in that it spotlights the human rights and labor rights problems of our "ally", Columbia.

Could have been more and/or sooner, perhaps, but good for them that they did censure their own top guy.
