1. I think HIllary...

...is on the big slide down. She's losing ground in Pennsylvania, down by a lot in NC, and is up by less than 10% in Indiana....

3. She also lost her chief strategist, and is in debt.
So long, Hillary, it's been good to know ya.

8. It's hard to keep up now.
There are at least 7 who have publicly affirmed that they will be supporting the leader in Pledged Delegates(Obama).

And another 80 who have said they will support the "leader", but not until the Convention.

14. 80 ???
You've got 80 names of supers who have made some statement about supporting the "leader" at the convention, above and beyond the 7 "Pelosi Club" members that DCW has? Not sure I believe you. Can you list some, maybe 10-20 of them here? Names, and references if you have them. Or, even better, email the entire list to the DCW email address (in the right sidebar) - we'd love to take a look at it. - Matt - 2008 Democratic Convention Watch

19. I got it from this article in the Washington Post.
Edited on Sun Apr-06-08 09:53 PM by tekisui
80 Superdelegates made it clear they wouldn't endorse before the Convention.

The article does not clearly state what measure they will use to make their decision, but it does suggest that most will go with the "leader" by some matrix. It mentions leading by 100 PD's. Here it is, 80 names are not mentioned in the article:

BTW, thanks for your great work. I check your site more than daily!

20. OK
Thanks. I would be careful with how you characterize them. The article says:

But if Clinton (N.Y.) and Obama (Ill.) are still seen as relatively close in the pledged, or elected, delegate count in June, many said, they will feel free to decide for themselves which of the candidates would make a stronger nominee...

So if it's close, they're not going to hold to any "leader" commitment.

And here's the important thing. If it's not close, Obama's won, and they're just piling on anyway!

Thanks for reading the blog. Much appreciated.

10. Rockin
Whats that, 7 this month so far? Thats gotta sting, when Hillary was supposed to be approaching her "Grand victory" in PA. It seems like even if she does win the state, she will still(yet again) gain less delegates than Obama this month.

13. yup
I am focused on the month, though. If there was ever a time after super tueday to favor Hillary in delegates, it should be this month, with only PA voting. But it begins to look like even this month will be a looser for her.

15. Her last remaining category of "leading" is with DNC member-Superdelegates.
Amongst Elected Superdelegates, Obama leads. Popular vote-Obama. Pledged Delegates-Obama. States won-Obama. Primaries won-Obama. Caucuses Won-Obama. Contests won by more than 20%-Obama. Money raised-Obama. Most Individuals to donate-Obama.

17. This is great news! It is starting to look like Obama will be ahead of Clinton in SDs by June.
And if the remaining primaries do not give her a delegate lead and the season ends with her lacking both pledged and supers. The chances she can convince the others to go to her is beyond small.

The chances of Clinton getting the nomination fade rapidly.
