Here is a prediction: come 2023, the Obamas will have made a lot more than $109 million
even after adjustment for inflation.

First, they will enter the White House a lot wealthier than the Clintons were in 1992. They already own a one million house while the Clintons did not even own a house.

And just as they both made money with their books and Bill with speech engagements, so will the Obamas do.

Will the Obamas be that generous with the Federal treasury, though?

At least during recent years, the Clintons appeared to have been extremely conservative in their tax planning, according to Jay Friedman and Robert Spierer, accountants at the firm of Perelson Weiner LLP. For example, despite Mr. Clinton's self-employed status, the couple did not take any deductions for business meals or entertainment expenses in 2004, 2005 or 2006. Mr. Clinton also did not contribute to a retirement plan in those years. He took a small home-office deduction in 2004, but none in 2005 or 2006.

3. Just that so many on DU (and, no doubt, on Olbermann)
used the fact that the Clintons made $109 million since they left the White House as yet another excuse to bash them.

4. He will be the "American Idol" presidential candidate.

Even when he loses, he will make huge amounts of money. He'll be on every "bipartisan" committee he ever dreamed of.

6. OK, that's it. You finally made it to my Ignore list, Axy.
I welcome a variety of opinions just as much as any DU'er, but your opinion--well, I'm simply sick of hearing it.

We get it already, you really hate Obama. Whatever.

12. A couple of obvious questions. At least to me anyway.
Why would the Clintons need a house? They lived in the Governors Mansion in Arkansas.

And If I were worth over $100 million, I don't think I'd need a 401k.

14. As did Carter, Reagan and Bush II
all were independently wealthy before they entered the White House.

The Clintons were the least wealthy to enter the White House.

401K is nice because it is tax free, of course. And I've heard that wealthy individuals get that way, at least, by honest means, by counting every penny and using any channel to save more.

13. Except Michelle won't be running for president after Obama leaves
I don't mind the money that the Clinton's made. It's the influence peddling that bothers me. You aren't going to convince me that all the money that was paid to Bill for his speeches, and the donations to his library, were not given with the expectation that they would end up back in the White House.

16. I'm fine with your prediction.
It requires that Obama won the nomination and the election and was returned to office in 2012. Excellent!

20. And if Hillary takes the White House, they will leverage even more money out of that position.
Me? I tend to side with the less rich candidate. We've had more than enough plutocracy.
