Book: McCain temper boiled over in '92 tirade, called wife a **** (C word)
Wow, an officer AND a gentleman. Maybe he'll come unhinged during the presidential debates. I'll be waiting.

"John McCain's temper is well documented. He's called opponents and colleagues "shitheads," "assholes" and in at least one case "a fucking jerk."

"But a new book on the presumptive Republican nominee will air perhaps the most shocking angry exchange to date.

"The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter, which will arrive in bookstores next month, reports an angry exchange between McCain and his wife that happened in full view of aides and reporters during a 1992 campaign stop. An advance copy of the book was obtained by RAW STORY.

"Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you **** (c-word)." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

6. maybe now that they see what a sexist pig he is,
some will change their minds.
wouldn't make sense that they vote for McCain because of the sexism against Hillary...

but what makes sense anymore.

14. Yes. It would be awful having a sexist, or sexual harasser molesting women in the WH, right?
Do you think Hillary could use this effectively against McCain?

15. consider that 50% of eligible voters don't vote
because they don't trust people like Clinton

amazing things are possible

I think a second exodus from the Democratic Party might be about due...

then we could truly grow

16. Not an excuse, but he is Irish...
I'm Irish and also have a quick temper. It burns out fast. Over the years I've learned to control it. If I (God forbid) found myself under the pressure of a Presidential campaign, it's possible that my temper might take over from time to time.

I've also had my profanity criticized occasionally. I always rationalize my off color language by saying that I was born in Pittsburgh and raised by a father had been a steel worker.

The question, of course, is will his temper override his ability to deal with other world leaders. I seriously doubt he would push the button and destroy the world in a moment of anger, but his anger might be a serious problem in important negotiations. If he does become President, his press conferences might prove a little more entertaining than the those of the current idiot in that office.

I feel there should be no reason why a competent Democrat can't defeat McCain in the general election. People are fed up with Republicans with good reason.

The problem is that the Democrats appear to be self destructing during the primaries. It looks like Hillary is a bad loser and will do anything to destroy Obama's chances. Her efforts might muddy the water so much that McCain can run a clean campaign on the issues and Obama will be still covered by the mud that Hillary threw. The Republican talking heads that I see on the news are smiling with glee at all the infighting in the Democratic party.

We appear to be shooting ourselves in the foot. We are also giving the Republicans the all ammo they need to finish us off.

Of course, the general election is a long way off. When the votes are cast, most people will probably have forgotten the primary campaign. Americans are known for their short memories. We can always hope.

I wonder if John McCain likes beer. I've heard that if it wasn't for beer the Irish would rule the world.
