Does anyone know if this is all true?

As a new DUer, I look to older and more experienced DUers for guidance on these things. Apologies if these things have already been verified!

I've seen here recently that Obama, though nominally a Christian, has deep and very disturbing ties to the Muslim community, that he has no intention of getting us out of Iraq, and that he went on some sort of crime spree with this Rezko character.

Other things I've read state that he's sucking on the teat of Big Oil, that he agrees with his commie traitor America-hating pastor Wright that God should damn America, that his wife Michelle (a black woman - and after all we've done for them!) is ashamed of America, and that Obama dishonored Dr. King by not waving off the balcony where MLK was shot because he preferred to mark the 40th anniversary of the assassination hustling for votes. If true, these things are really awful. But there's more!

Apparently, he refused to spend Easter with his grandmother and left another elderly relative to wallow in squalor in a hut in Africa. What kind of a guy would do that?

I also read that he idolizes Reagan and Bush I, and he put on some weird Somali outfit for a photo-op. Somali? I mean, WTF? He also made that nice mestizo Governor Richardson break a promise he's made five times not to ever betray his loyalty to the Clintons, which Richardson promised he would never do even though he himself ran against Senator Clinton for the nomination. I'm still a bit confused about all that.

I also read somewhere here that Obama supported himself by dealing drugs. Drugs? Americans hate drugs! Where does this guy get off?

If this stuff is true, I believe John McCain is going to get up from his rocker and hit Obama really hard on issues like these. Like I heard President Clinton pointed out, a moderate like McCain will have a huge edge on someone like Obama. And Senator Clinton said the guy has one speech. One crummy speech, that's it!

And after all, the Republicans are energized this year! I've heard about record primary and caucus turn-outs, with all kinds of first-time voters coming out. I don't know all the details, but that doesn't sound promising to me, folks.

Sounds to me like we won't stand a chance in November if this guy manages to steal the nomination by personally disenfranchising the good Democrats of the great states of Florida and Michigan like I read here he's doing.

And I hate to say it, but this is the most unsettling thing. I understand Obama's of mixed race. I don't know if that true, and I know I personally would not be bothered in the least if he maybe had a touch of the tarbrush going back 12 generations or something, since some of my best friends have a touch of the tarbrush going back 12 generations. But let's get real here. Most Americans won't vote for an octaroon, or even a white guy with a tan. Look at what happened to Romney. Poor guy never had a chance, because the American electorate just doesn't like people of color. Well, except voters who are people of color. We all know they vote as a bloc, anyway.

Does anyone know if all this is true?

PS - I didn't ask about the bowling thing because I saw for myself that he's a crap bowler. But any help on all these other things I'm so terribly concerned about would be really appreciated, you guys. Thanks in advance!

Frankly, it's a great piece of writing, but it has a SORT OF an edge to it. I know that JeffR and Nance are together in Canada, but JeffR is now associated with the DUzy Awards -- and they both are supporting Obama.

But I'm not exactly sure what all the little bits and pieces are about -- just random picking up stuff that people have OR MIGHT REALLY THINK about him?

So, color me confused. I use the word "color" advisedly. I tried to recommend the thread and found it was from MONDAY -- so I couldn't actually vote for it.

JeffR, as for giving yourself a DUzy Award -- hey, that'll be YOUR call. I always think it's the better part of valor to be humble and accept compliments readily, but not to descend to the level of boasting about it. It looks great there in your journal for all to see.

The piece is very well written and I give it an A+ for bring up a lot of issues, real or vibrantly imagined with a tongue in cheek -- and maybe a pretty SHARP tongue, too.

Of course, I won't accuse Nance Greggs of writing it and putting your name on it!

(This refers to a really rough patch last year when my husband -- Audio_Al -- had a brief liaison with this site. People thought that he -- was ME. We got dragged through the mud about that, and he wandered away to other pursuits. He thinks most people at the DU are wading around in a virtual political cesspool at this point, especially during these primaries.)

I could kick myself for voting for this guy in our nonprimary. I voted for him even though I prefer a good old boy, straight talkin' candidate. I even excused the Ivy League school business and all that good grammar. But NOT being able to bowl. This is series.

the first sentence in this attempt at satire gave it away. Only one reason to post "stuff" like this, So Obama supporters can sit around, pat each other on the back because they "got it", and lest we forget their #1 priority, convince someone, anyone who will listen that this is the core beliefs of most Clinton supporters. I think the threads attempting to separate oneself from the "cult"(majority) label, and those that claim race is not an issue, while holding their loaded decks at the ready, are far more effective than the satire approach. That those two types of threads are barely effective, should tell you the worth of this one. Unfortunately, this particular piece was not hard enough on the accusations. If Clinton supporters, who these things are aimed at, are to be affected by the accusations, O supporters need to come up with something worse than what they have accused HRC of. This attempt doesn't hold a candle. Maybe next time. Thanks.
