11. Rock Chalk Jayhawk KU
When you are born and raised in Kansas and before you are in first grade you know that KU is the father of the state religion - BASKETBALL. In my generation we were in awe of Dr. James Naismith and Phog Allen, in my case their families and my family were friends. Dr. Naismith was dead by the time I was born but his son and his grandson and great grandson all worked at KU, Phog Allen was a coach, one of the best. Dr. Naismith and Phog Allen invented sports medicine and designed the first football helmets.

As far as omens are concerned, Kansas (a Red state) voted overwhelmingly for Obama in their state democratic primary, people voted in record numbers. KU won the Orange Bowl this year and the National Basketball Championship tonight. In an interview last week, when Obama was asked who his bracket picks were and he said well "he always picks Kansas." I think those might be all good omens for him and his Kansas born grandmother for 2008. And if he does win the Democratic primary and the GE, this Colorado transplant, born and raised in Kansas will be singing Rock Chalk Jayhawk KUUUUUUU
