RASMUSSEN National Poll: Obama 51% Clinton 40%; largest lead... Developing...
From Drudge.

Also internals from Penn Q poll:

April 8, 2008 - Obama Catching Up With Clinton In Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; She's Losing Ground Even Among Women

Word format

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama is catching up with New York Sen. Hillary Clinton in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary and now trails 50 - 44 percent among likely primary voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

This compares to a 50 - 41 percent Sen. Clinton lead in an April 2 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN uh-pe-ack) University.

In this latest survey, one of the biggest shifts is among women who went from 54 - 37 percent for Clinton April 2 to 54 - 41 percent for her today. A look at other groups shows:

* White voters for Clinton 56 - 38 percent, down from 59 - 34 percent last week.
* Black voters back Obama 75 - 17 percent, compared to 73 - 11 percent.
* Men are for Obama 48 - 44 percent, compared to a 46 - 46 percent tie last week.
* Voters under 45 go with Obama 55 - 40, while older voters back Clinton 55 - 38 percent.

"With two weeks to go, Sen. Barack Obama is knocking on the door of a major political upset in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary. Obama is not only building on his own constituencies, but is taking away voters in Sen. Hillary Clinton's strongest areas - whites including white women, voters in the key swing Philadelphia suburbs and those who say the economy is the most important issue in the campaign," said Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

10. I think the shenanigans will decrease...
My guess is that the CC's main priority at this point is to force themselves onto the coatails of the OC.

15. My friend was a Civil Rights attorney
and he is on his way to Philly in a few days.

He will be working the Obama campaign in Philly.

He said the dirty tricks in Ohio for HC were beyond anything he had witnessed in the 60's. :(

14. Rasmussen is releasing a new PA poll at noon
Their last poll had her only 5 up, so I am nervous about this one. I really don't want the poll to show him winning or even close, but I'll be kind of disappointed if it doesn't show him gaining ground. Kind of a Catch 22, I guess.

38. Remember that as he gets closer to tie the harder it is.
The ones who were doubting Clinton have mostly changed already.

The ones remaining will be more difficult to sway as they are quite loyal to Clinton.

The steady approach could mean a win however. We will just have to work and see!

35. DerekJ There is a tiny possibility right now.
And I mean tiny so don't get your hopes up.

Yet the fact that there is even a tiny chance highlights the extreme loss of support Clinton has to face. PA has been known as a BIG Clinton poitical firewall for months. If he keeps it within 10 percent the firewall is broken and that opens the floodgates for the remaining states to go Obama.

13. If the voters of Michigan and Florida mistakenly blame Obama
for the decision to move up their states' primaries, then it would have the effect of driving DOWN Obama's NATIONAL poll numbers.

The last time the Rasmussen match-up tracking poll (updated daily) showed either Democrat winning against McCain was March 10th.

27. Ed Rendell on MTP lowered the bar to 5-6 points...
At what point will what was formally a 20 point PA lead for Hillary be seen as an OBVIOUS sign that now, Obama has secured the nomination?

I assume even a .0001% win for him will be enough. Of course, the pundits have been saying anything less than a Clinton blow out is...enough.
