1. Tell that to your fellow Hillite here asking for sexual favors from female posters.
Otherwise, STFU.

24. I can tell that you've heard it a time or twenty.
Most of the posts here on DU nowadays are nonsensical at best. The level of discourse has gone downhill to the point that I'm truly disgusted with this entire joint.

You're an Obama supporter and I'm a Clinton supporter. We should be able to sit down and calmly discuss what we do and do not like about each candidate. (And since both candidates are Dems there should be things that we can name about each candidate that we like. Neither is the the antichrist.) We both know that neither of our candidates are perfect but we've chosen them for our own reasons and each should be respected.

Sorry to dump this on you but it seems that dumping is all that everyone does here on DU nowadays. If we, as Dems, can't get our shit together we'll lose in November.

6. I never attacked Wright
But if Wright had said God Damn racists in America rather than God Damn America there would be no controversy over it. Elton John did not say Americans can go to Hell, he said Americans with misogynist attitudes can go to Hell.

And you'll waste a fair portion of your life defending it if you're not careful. He shouldn't have gone there. Move on.

I also agree with wright's statement and don't see it as racist. Any progressive that listened to his sermon in its entirety would be of the same mindset.

"... the government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes the 3 strike laws and then wants us to sing God bless America, no, no, no, God damn America, that's in the bible for killing innocent people, God damn America for treating her citizens as less than human."

The said thing is so many alleged progressives/liberals have ridden the band wagon of hate and racism against Wright while not bothering to use empathy or trying to understand the cultural differences.

Funny thing is, at the end of the "awful" sermon Wright calls on his congregation to take personal responsibility for their lives, to not linger in the blame and to do what the good book says. Shame how many missed that part of his sermon, some would really do well trying to do just that.

15. Go listen to his sermon in its entirety
What he actually said was

"... the government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes the 3 strike laws and then wants us to sing God bless America, no, no, no, God damn America, that's in the bible for killing innocent people, God damn America for treating her citizens as less than human."

Doesn't god condemn the killing of innocents and the mistreatment of people? In all actually he left his "s" off of "God damns America"

"...God bless America, no, no, no, God damns America, that's in the bible for killing innocent people, God damns America for treating her citizens as less than human."

God does damn those who kill the innocents and mistreat others. It is in the bible.

Context is everything.

Are you refering to the racist anti-American screed from Obama's misogynistic personal spiritual advisor and role model?
"God DAMN the US of KKK!! Its IN THE BIBLE!!"

That's "similar, so to speak"? Not if one speaks English.

All these misogynistic attitudes from people who dare not like Hillary are the reason Tim Russert always asks her the debate question first. Ladies first!

If a woman supports Obama, she's a self-hating sexually confused individual. It's time the Hillary Clinton campaign EXPOSE these woman for being traitors to Hillary's private parts!

Poor little Hillary. All these enemies of her sex...all out to get her...boo fucking hoo.

"Clinton supporter Elton John laments US misogyny" - Reuters

http://www.reuters.com/article/vcCandidateFeed1/idUSN0926923920080410

NEW YORK (Reuters) - British pop star Elton John, playing a fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton in New York on Wednesday, said he was amazed at the misogyny of some in America and he hoped that wouldn't stop her being president.

At the fund-raiser which Clinton's campaign manager said raised $2.5 million, John said there was no one more qualified to lead the United States into the next era.

"Having said that, I never cease to be amazed at the misogynistic attitude of some people in this country. And I say to hell with them," he said, drawing cheers from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan.

Essentially, he's saying people who hate women are costing Hillary the nomination, which is absolute baloney. It would be equally disgusting for an Obama celebrity supporter to say the same sentence, switching the word mysogynist to the word racist. Using Elton's logic, anyone who doesn't support Barack is a racist. It's idiotic. If Hillary was the candidate with the most appeal to all the voters, she'd be winning.
