rattle those pots and pans
but i dont understand how doing so is a valid protest against stereotype for women

I said, shake, rattle and roll,
You never done nothing
To save your doggone soul.

Well, get out of that kitchen
And rattle those pots and pans,
Well, get out of that kitchen
And rattle those pots and pans,
I said to my soul.
You're the devil in a frying pan.

8. aww shucks ...
though i don't deserve much credit on that. Nance had a brilliant emoticon thread called as the DU turns a month ago that nailed this zoo (check her journal), and there was another funny emoticon collage of hillary's campaign calender (forget the OP, sorry, though you can check the DUzys), and I was just emulating these. hell though, if you like it give it an ole kick ;) really though, i've had my own fair share of bonehead posts i've been too embarrassed of, so am just living and trying to learn from the best of em. The key, I've found, is to channel anger and frustration in constructive ways, remaining serious and using strong evidence and broader perspective when dialogue is possible (that's the purpose of my journal on Wright, which is the one I would have rather had more back and forth on) and using humor satire or irony when the opposition makes its contrariety and divisiveness clear. If anything laughter is the best medicine for oneself, though satire does offer the additional potential of educating those on the fence....

16. Maybe I shouldn't be so sadistic
But in reality
I.Cannot.Fucking.Wait

First, and I'm being serious for the first time in hours (slow news day, huh?), what in god's name are they protesting? "Fair Reporting" from Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann? They're fucking commentators. It'd be one thing if Tom Brokaw said something like, 'man, that Hillary girl has GOT to go' on the Nightly News but these two guys do exactly what Rush or Hannity or Randi or Big Ed are paid to do: talk about the news. They just talk about it. Sometimes they break a story but it's only credible when SOMEONE else reports on it. And guess what? If you don't like it, there's the Off button staring you in the face. Furthermore, and really potbangers think about this, if they don't get ratings then they go away. Their purpose in life is to find a niche, make a groove, and sail to the bank. By you protesting, you're actually doing them a fucking favor. Give them the ultimate 'Fuck You' and turn off your idiot boxes for once.

Ok, that out of the way, just what are you protesting about? There's war and poverty and all kinds of great INCLUSIVE causes that could really gain some ground. Wherein, you might actually win over people to HRC's cause, but instead you're banging pots because you're petty. And I hate to shit in your sundae, but it's going to look absolutely ridiculous on television. ESPECIALLY the pots (which, as pointed out everywhere, are completely ironic).

But by all means, continue with the plan of the week. I'll be watching, I promise.

2. I don't understand it either
It appears to be a rather dumb stunt. If they are tired of the mysogny and the sexism why would they reinforce it by bringing pots and pans for a protest. What type of fear will this cause for the DNC and NBC.

It's one of the more immature things I've seen come from that camp.

This is why we have not been able to get a Dem elected as President. We don't know how to fight.

You look so warm, but your heart is cold as ice

11. Fuck. Why don't we have an appliance store drop off stoves/ovens etc. and these women can cook up
some meals for the homeless while they are there. Great fucking idea I say. Put those pots and pans to good use instead of fucking banging them like a bunch of fucking morons.

18. One poster posted on the forum
"Hey guys do you think this might be a bad idea with Hillary trying to talk about issues that we go and protest. It might distract from the campaign and be twisted by the media and the obama supporters."

They all promptly shot her down....
