BREAKING: Benjamin Franklin (PA) endorses Obama!
Ok, so maybe he didn't. But if he hadn't died over 200 years ago, you know he WOULD have!

:P

4. Are we really going to start quibbling about this? For all we know, Ben Franklin
would have been a LaRouche fan.

It was just a GDP joke, and if people actually start taking it seriously, my head will explode.

7. Are you compiling a dossier?
I sleep better knowing that every bad thing Obama does is all going in your report.

3. I Suspect That He Would
Regarding the "Patriot" Acts: "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Regarding Iraq: "There never was a good war or a bad peace."

Regarding a certain someone: "Half the Truth is often a great Lie."

And regarding the Democratic Party: "We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately."

6. As I recall, both Clinton and Obama voted for the renewal of the
so-called "Patriot" Act.

As I recall, both Clinton and Obama voted for the funds to continue our illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq.

Nobody knows, but I'd bet Benjamin Franklin would be less than enthusiastic about either of our remaining candidates.

8. That being said, he'd vote for Obama...
...He was, ultimately, the very definition of a practical man.

Put it this way: he knew how to keep his head warm.

11. Ben Franklin wouldn't have an opinion, he'd be more fascinated by a zillion other things
Edited on Thu Apr-10-08 04:15 PM by FreepFryer
Like for example, he might greatly lament the fact that in America, people are generally not allowed to generate their own electricity.

He'd probably be very surprised that the Democratic Party (which didn't exist in his day) was choosing between a woman and a black man to their convention.

And I don't think he'd take sides until he figured out the Internet, personal expresso machines, contact lenses and the automobile.
