So guess Matthews is sayinig if the Repukes start a war with Iran, it would be
good for politics for them by increasing their chances in winning. Guess he thinks the American public is going to buy into the philosophy again that the Republicans are the best at protecting our country. Yeah, right, look at the shape they have our country in right now.

6. Yeah. We'll sit there on the corner curb, smoking.
Hands on the Bible, tears in our eyes
Kneel on the corner, pray for more wine
Well, it'll be beans and bread.
But a small price to pay
To hold hands and go dancing
On the Old Devil's grave

And dance on it, we will, shadow.
One way or a goddamned other.

4. They also pointed out that Americans don't vote for anti-war candidates...
imo it's sad how stupidly self-defeating our fellow citizens apparently are.

7. You are 100% right on that one. If people thought they or their sons or daughters

would have to go to war, they would not be so anxious about having a war and they might get off of their asses and do some protesting like the anti-war protests during Vietnam in which there was a draft. Too many people just are not affected themselves by the war and watch it on TV.

You have a little different perspective on going to war if it is going to directly affect you and you might go yourself.

8. If they do invade Iran
There will most likely be a draft, especially if McCain is elected. Our military can't handle a war on three fronts, plus all the other areas in the world they do police duty, they just don't have the man power. The people better open their eyes and see the writing on the wall before it's to late for our children and grandchildren. The only ones who will get out of the draft are the ones like Bush who have daddies with money, and political clout. The rest of the country will see their children fighting an endless war in the middle east for "OIL"!!!!!!

10. Agree with you; what worries me though, is what in the hell it takes to wake up
people anymore. Dam, just read a newspaper, internet, TV, news weeklies & you should be able to figure out where the hell we were before GWB and where we will be when he finally leaves office. A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush, Lieberman, Cheney and McCain to carry on, stay the course. Hopefully, they will wake up.
