I am sick and tired of the "What's the Matter With Kansas" crowd that takes a page out of Karl Rove's playbook and divides us based on our misunderstandings and prejudices. I expressed previously that I don't do a good job of making political calls.

What popped upwas a list of names for me to call of people in Ohio that had already signed up to volunteer for him in PA!

I had the most wonderful conversations and two of the 12 calls that I made are now making arrangements to drive to PA this weekend!

My heart, while admittedly scarred by life, is as open as anyone I know, and more open than most.

Which has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with my assessment of presidential candidates.

I vote for issues, and for those who have proven integrity on issues. I don't vote for a candidate because of what they look like, or how "moving" their campaign speeches are.

If Obama, and his supporters, want me to "open my heart" to him as a candidate, then he needs to say AND DO the following:

Withdraw support for the war on terror as well as commit to an immediate end to the Iraq war.

Withdraw support for NAFTA and work to repeal it.

Scrap his bad health care plan and support HR 676.

Renounce his support for merit pay for teachers and for privatization of public education, and commit to getting rid of NCLB.

Declare, and follow up on, strong commitment to a deep and wide separation between church and state.

Unequivocally take action to prove his support for equal rights for all, to include the right for consenting adults of any gender mix to marry.

There are many more issues I'd like to see some action on, but these would be enough for me to "open my heart." :eyes:

These things would indicate to me that Obama's mind and heart are in the right place.

But the reality is that the President is not the solution to all our problems, and regardless of what you may think, whoever he or she will be controlled by external groups and will probably do nothing to make sure you have a voice in D.C.

The character of your response suggests that there is more here than meets the eye.
