Hell yes, I am bitter

I live in an urban area (Denver)

I've been to many rural areas here in Colorado, and can see there's nothing out there.

I have been in this economy since my wife and I have been married. It has been over 7 years now. This is my story:

I'm an UNIX administrator, and I'm also deaf - which makes it extremely tough to find jobs. I work, and have been for the last 7 years, with a family company. If it wasn't for Dad, I'd be out of a job.

My wife also works, and she has often told me she wants to start a family, and can't really afford to cut down much on our income (61K together since around 2004, two person)

The way our IT venture is slowing down so much, barely any work for us to fix computers. So we're taking on a new business that has been slow in growing, and could get new monies if it wasn't for people losing their jobs, but it's paying the bills right now.

I am also on SSDI, which barely helps thanks to Chimp's idea of COLA to being around 2% raises, when it needs to be much more, like 40-50% annual COLA raises.

I owe a lot of money in taxes. Chimp has not helped at all, and my CPA tells me that my "$1200" stimulus check will reduce what I owe to IRS this year. I have been on a payment plan for 2 years. We are still paying down our debts and in 6 months, our $355/month car loan to our Honda Accord will end, and we will use the money to really pay it down for awhile.

I have had no honeymoon since we got married, because we couldn't afford to.

Wife works, and she really does not want to work.

So hell yes, I am a purple state ready to go fuckin' blue - Colorado is losing jobs like crazy and being offshored to other states for cheap wages. Hello?

I have to give this one to Obama. How can Clinton (and apparently McCain) not think we're bitter and angry? Look at what's happening, the road rage instances, the rudeness and lack of consideration for others - members of the public are taking their frustrations and fears out on each other because they can't take them out on their employers or elected officials.

Maybe, like in the movie "Network", the Obama campaign needs to organize and a day and time for us all to go outside and scream "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" Maybe our voices would be heard then.
