Hillary voted IN FAVOR of the bankruptcy bill in 2001.

Obama was completely correct in citing that Hillary voted in favor of the Bankruptcy law in 2001.
In fairness, she worked to amend to be at least a bit more favorable to working people, but the final version was still very anti-consumer/anti-working people. (I believe this is the law she said in the debate she voted for but was glad didn't pass/ (????) ) HILLARY IS NO FRIEND OF THE WORKING CLASS WHEN SHE TAKES MORE $ FROM CORPORATE AMERICA THAN MANY REPUBLICANS, WHEN SHE WORKED FOR WALMART, WHEN SHE WORKED FOR THE CORPORATE ROSE LAW FIRM, AND WHEN SHE IS A DLC DARLING. Hillary Clinton is the very kind of corporate Democrat that John Edwards says we don't need. Right on John. We don't need to replace corporate Republicans with corporate Democrats.

6. The bankruptcy bill is probably why we are all in this economic trouble

The consumer was all tapped out in 2005. The banks had no more people to lend money to, without credit risk. The bankruptcy bill, on paper, removed most of the credit risk, and the ratings agencies had what they needed to give high ratings to packaged debt. That meant that the banks and loan sharks were pushing really risky loans. Still, you can't get blood from a turnip, and look where we are now.

of the bankruptcy bill is because it came before the Senate during the time when Bill was having his serious health problems, and she was up in New York with him when the vote was taken . . . she didn't vote against it -- she just didn't vote at all . . .

that's not in any way a criticism of her missing the vote to be with her husband . . . it's simply to point out that, had she voted, she no doubt would have supported the bill, just as she did in 2001 . . .
