Hillary elevates Grover Norquist. Norquist. What is wrong with her?
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 07:54 AM by cali
Is there anyone on the wingnut right she won't suck up to if she thinks it can benefit her? Sending out emails of Norquist critizing Obama and emails quoting Ed Fucking Rollins? What the hell is she thinking? Scaife, Drudge, Murdoch. No one on the far right is too loathsome for Hillary. I find her using Norquist who is absolutely brutal to the poor and working classes, and Rollins, disgusting. Beyond the pale. Even for Hillary. She demonstrates yet again, that she'll do anything no matter how loathsome.

4. I keep repeating...
Hillary Clinton is NOT a Democrat.

She is a Lieberman Independent.

Her goal currently is not so much to win the nomination or the Presidency, but to try to stop Obama from winning. She will do anything to achieve that goal. Anything.

11. I liked the clintons a lot better when they ran as outsiders and meant it
As it turns out they ran in order to become insiders. There is nothing either of these losers wants more than acceptance by the beltway elites. And they perceive Norquist is one of the elite.

I've felt for years that bill clinton's groveling to daddy bush was unseemly. Now hillary is doing it too.

I'm getting more bitter by the minute just typing this.

18. I am more concerned
that this is not "stooping" at all, but merely the level plane of privileged opinion and policy makers whose stripes though different, comprise one startling, revealing prison suit. You will hear seemingly strong arguments against what Murdoch or Norquist or others stand for in that respectfully competitive world up there. When you feel outrage at the mutual aid and alliances conducted by Neville Chamberlain Dems do you not hear instead the same tone, the same ring as during the theatric critiques?

We misunderstand Chamberlain on the same level as we misunderstand the attitudes and actions of many leadership Dems. He was not just "weak" or "pragmatic"(about the unlikelihood of military action to pre-empt Hitler), he and a large circle of recovering, prosperous leaders were fairly sympathetic to a large portion of Nazi policies and willing to cast a bland/blind eye upon horrendous abuses. Whether weak critique or friendly cooperation with these monsters, these types of leaders dismay down to core, those who hope for REAL opposition to lawless evil, and hear incredible smiling schmoozing the very next day. You can hear this one constant in statements one cannot match to the brutality of reality and the claims of leadership of a free and decent majority.

We know how bad these times are, how sharp the test. The leadership has fallen to the edge of this sword as if expecting to scoop up daisies or candy. It stands revealed in voice and action. It is already covered with blood, tragedy and irresponsible surrender. The words mean nothing. The smiling, friendship sealed associations tell all even as they dramatize their differences and end up- always- delivering us up to the very worst. The DLC Chamberlain types pooh pooh all immoderate concerns and "chastise" the RW- without teeth. The RW despises and uses and enjoys the empowerment given by these foolish friendlies. It is the fabled "honor among power elites".

20. she is not supporting them, she is sending around comments from MAINSTREAM america...
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 08:24 AM by Texas Hill Country
The thing that I dont think many of you get is the fact that FOX is pretty much representative of mainstream America... you can tell from the ratings...

of the top ten cable news shows Fox takes slots 1 to 5, Lou Dobbs is #6, Larry King #7, Situation Room #7, Anderson #8, Tweety #9, Dan Abrams #10.

Bill O'Reilly gets 2.6 million viewers

Tweety gets like 700,000 (dont remember the exact number to be honest, but it was less than 800k)

all this is of course dwarfed by the networks, but still...

They may suck, I may hate them, and I may disagree with their views, but the do represent how most of mainstream and small town americans feel.

2000 and 2004 should have prooved this by now?

42. You, like so many others, forget Gore won popular vote in 2000.
And it took the SCOTUS to shut down vote counting in Florida so as not to "disadvantage" Bush.

Ohio GE 2004 wasn't exactly kosher. Ample evidence of that. I won't go through it here.

So those two examples don't "proove" your thesis.

And if Faux News was an accurate representation of "mainstream" America, the majority of Americans would support the war (they don't), Bush's popularity numbers would be through the roof (they aren't) and the Dems wouldn't have won Congress in 2006.

John McCain’s crude Chelsea Clinton joke
By: John Amato on Saturday, February 9th, 2008 at 9:01 AM - PST John McCain made this odious joke about Chelsea Clinton back in ‘98.

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”

– Sen. John McCain, speaking to a Republican dinner, June 1998.

Not only is McCain’s hideous attempt at humor about 10 times more tasteless than what Shuster said (as the David Corn article notes, newspapers that reported on the joke wouldn’t even print it), but while the newsman’s ill-conceived comment was at least spontaneous, McCain’s joke was a prepared remark to a public audience.

Maybe McCain has more in common with Limbaugh than Rush thinks. The straight talk express should be ashamed of himself."

If the Clintons can rationalize overlooking that vicious attack on their supposedly dearly-loved daughter, there is no one they won't publicly embrace if it furthers their agenda of wealth and power.

31. And McCain's relationship
(despite his sour temper) to Bush who kneecapped him with dirt in 2000 is just another example of this Beltway intestinal immunity to minimal personal integrity. They want to be just good pals outside the fake pro-wrestling ring where thousands of us perish miserably for real every year, losing everything in the glow of their stable camaraderie. And they are. The biggest most sincere opposition and spite they display and the worst aggression they dish out is:

against truth tellers,
citizen activists of conscience,
the general public,
America,
the World,
Humanity,
simple facts.
