The 2nd****OFFICIAL*****I Will Vote For The Dem Nominee Thread
just in case all the angry anti-Obama people have any doubt about WHO the true democrats are around here. Sign up-even though you may be pissed off this morning at certain tactics being employed, if you are STILL going to vote for the eventual democratic nominee for president say so here, otherwise enjoy your ever-shortening time here at DU.

7. All you have to do is look at mccain's voting record, and see what he is saying now
that should disturb any of us, Obama OR Clinton supporters

8. Well, this is the reason Obama is pandering to some groups but is ignoring the GLBT's
Because he knows whoever the nominee is the GLBT's will always vote for a democrat. We don't have any other choices. Now if it were Kucinich who actually wants GLBT's to have equal rights with the rest of America you can bet the GLBT's would come out in droves and out of the woodwork to vote for Kucinich.

10. there are way bigger issues
with all due respect to your sexuality...you ain't sittin in Gitmo yet UALRBSofL and I can GUARANTEE you you won't either if Obama is the president. we can't be distracted by lesser issues when there is an unending war and we're all a month from living in refrigerator boxes or in cars we can't to drive because the gas is too expensive. again, with ALL due respect to your struggles.

16. WTF? Civil rights aren't important and a "lesser issue". BTW, unlike many here,
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 10:50 AM by BleedingHeartPatriot
I've NEVER voted other than Democrat and don't intend to.

How dare you? As if there aren't GLBT folks who are already homeless or dealing with potential job loss, not only because of this sucky economy, but, on TOP of that, are at risk to lose their job if their boss finds out they're gay and then harasses them or fires them.

UALRBSofL, I'm sorry that as a straight person I have to share that designation with someone as heartless and blind as SoFlaJet.

And, BTW, in regards to your OP, we have a lot of recent "converts" who happily voted for Bush once, or even twice, and now just want to back the "winner", especially cause their guy turned out to be such a loser. They don't really give a shit about our country, they just look for easiest path to be able to say "WE WON", and have zero perseverance and fortitude in supporting Democratic candidates and issues.

edit: grammer

25. You're intent was a unity
concept but you immediately set-up abrasive tone boundaries, pushing a biased agenda...you may wish to review you content of you post message as it is just like a push-poll for an example.

Do you drink a lot of coffee ? That something to explore because you're really intense maybe mean was a poor choice of describing the tone, I apologize.

I''ll vote, donate and work for our Democratic Presidental Candidate.

24. Yeah.
I actually sstarted out liking Hillary. When folks were just starting to say that she was going to run for POTUS, I thought it was a good idea. I knew she was a polarizing figure. But I figured there was enough time to overcome that. I also knew that she was a smart competent professional. An excellent choice to be the first woman candidate. The only person I could see myself backing over her, was Al Gore. I was really hoping he would announce. Of course, he didn't. So, I looked at all the other candidates (there being a large array to choose from at this point.) I liked both Kucinich and Edwards a lot. I preferred K's message. However, politics is the art of compromise. Even though Dennis' stands on practically every issue are in line with my own, I felt that he would be too inflexible, and hence accomplish very little. Also, even here in NE Ohio, people didn't take him seriously. So, Edwards it was. His populist, anti- corp message appealed greatly. After both of them dropped out, I was confronted with Obama and Clinton. I hesitated. I wasn't sure. Obama's lack of National experience DID concern me. But his message of hope and reconciliation appealed very much. I really did feel that we had two excellent candidates, and that I could very happily vote for either. Then, the more I looked at Clinton, the more disappointed I became. I found the conduct of her campaign to be appalling. The attempt to change the agreed to rules in MI/FL was what turned me against her. Any seven year old knows that changing the rules after the game to suit yourself is cheating. Then she threw a fellow Democrat under the bus by saying McCain was more qualified to be CinC. And every week it seems she does something else stupid or foolish, showing a decided lack of judgement. The criticisms leveled at Obama were handled by him forthrightly and expertly. And most of them were silly criticisms anyway (Wright, Bitter.) So, here I am. An Obama supporter by elimination. But, I DO feel that he will be an excellent POTUS. Possibly the best in the past fifty years. (Gore would have been the best in the past One Hundred!)

But now to actually answer the question. If by some long shot, Hillary Clinton manages to get the Democratic nomination, I will vote for her. I will vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever.
