The Clinton's painting ANYONE as elitist is laughable to the point of absurdity.

The Clintons have ingratiated themselves with beltway insiders, lobbyists, free-trade corporatists, big money donors, insurance companies, the military industrial complex. They are more at home high-priced fundraisers and rubbing elbows with the top 2% than the common people.

They are now out of touch because they have become part of the very aristocracy they claimed to want to change when they first appeared on the national stage.

I still don't see the appeal of looking at the past through Clinton-colored glasses. The 90's weren't exactly hell on earth, but they were a DISASTER for the Democratic party and liberal ideals. Why on earth would we want a sequel to that? When we started to move AWAY from the DLC strategy and toward the real ideals of the party, we began to gain ground again.

The Clintons no longer connect with the average people. They have become a very heart of what we claim to hate about politics in the US.

In a nutshell, we can do so much better than the unwashed bill of goods they have been selling us.

1. But what if she does it in her 'reading a sad story' voice?
Will we buy it then?

2. LOL! Yes, the too-slow, sorrowful-sounding manner of speech she loves to
use lately. Ugh.

3. Her supporters might, if she sprinkles in some sniper-fire and riveting fiction.
That she is becoming famous for.

5. Bill Clinton has been very chummy with POPPY BUSH. HELLO!

Not to mention hobnobbing with socialites like Denise Rich.

But Obama is the elistist?

They really think we are stupid. And uninformed. At least, that's what they are counting on.

6. It's true. While the Senator from NY (where apparently Hillary lived for many years)....
....is struggling to raise big money from a small number of very rich people, the Senator from Illinois is raising all his from a large number of middle income people.

Who do you suppose she will feel her allegiance is owed to were she to become the nominee?

8. not quite ALL of his
he has had some $500 a plate dinners to, in Atlanta for example. Maybe half of his money comes from big donors, but a lot comes from a lot of small donors too.

7. epitome? slimy example?
There's a missing noun here

"They have become a very ?????? of what we claim to hate about politics in the US."

Although I am not sure they ever were connected to ordinary people. Governors and corporate lawyers are not exactly members of the working class. Early in Bill's first term somebody in his administration dismissed some of Bill's accusers as "what happens when you drag $100 bills through a trailer park". Which sounded pretty snobbish to me when Democrats are supposed to be representing the people in trailer parks, not thinking of them as canaille.
