Hillary had to blow her Bombshell early due to Bill's Big Mouth
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 01:57 PM by JackORoses
They have had 'Bittergate' since last Sunday, but it just came out yesterday.
This is no coincidence.
They had to use it early in an attempt to deflect from Bill's Tuzla bloopers on Thursday night.
(Inadvertantly, it also helped them avoid coverage of Hillary's response to questions regarding Colombia. This will come back to haunt her next week.)
They had likely intended to wait until closer to the Primary to drop this but their hand was forced.
They had this full line of attack prepped and ready to go. This was their 'Bombshell'.

Obama quickly responded like the Champ he is, directly addressing the People.
He will continue to gain on her in PA.

1. Yeah, more investigation into the "concerned Obama supporter"
who broke this story on her blog on HuffPo. They were just talking about her on Ballot Bowl/CNN. She sounds like a Clinton plant. More digging people. Please!

I think this was a set-up too, it stinks like things Clinton.

and the question raised repeatedly- does Hillary understand what they are and how the GOP uses them or not.

8. She said she decided to report on it based on her feelings about what he said.
DING*DING*DING - Her "feelings" make it really a stretch calling herself or anyone calling her a journalist.

45. she was interviewed on Lou Dobbs
a blogger who was featured on Huffington Post ...

don't much more about it than that other than what I mentioned, that what stuck out for me was her insinuation of her "feelings" into her "story."

59. Mayhill Fowler, posted on HuffPo.
The clip I saw was on CNN Ballot Bowl, a discussion about her and her being a "concerned reporter" between Suzanne Malveaux and Bill Schneider, from Sat. around 2-3 pm EST. Why did this person take a tape recorder into a closed event to sneakily record Obama's words? Is this journalistic protocol? I think not.

9. Hi --
I was wondering who brought this HUGE ISSUE to the forefront and began fanning the flames. So it was a "concerned Obama supporter" who we have to thank for this?

And after seeing HRC's painfully embarrassing to watch performance in PA "my opponent...." and Obama's kick-ass addressing it no-holds-barred in IN, I think we DO owe the instigator a thank-you.

Even if HRC wasn't behind this, she chose to run with it and make it an issue. Curses! Foiled again!

49. Get a grip
Obama has to get used to the fact that his words are not in a vacuum.
His supporters have to get a grip and realize this is just the softball league.
Hardball, or beanball starts when someone is the nominee.

If he is going to be loose with his words, now isn't the best time to learn.
There are no redo's due to rookie mistakes.
No... "I wasn't ready" moments.
Errors cost in the big leagues, and this was a pretty big one.

Don't piss on the messenger. That's politics, even in the softball league.
A good reporter would have gotten the scoop.

17. I had that very same thought when I heard about the "journalist" on CNN
--she was there and heard the remarks in total context. She portrayed herself as an "Obama supporter" (or she may have used the word "sympathizer" to make her appear more "impartial," I can't remember exactly) who "got to thinking" about one little out of context sentence and "didn't want to jeopardize Obama's campaign" (paraphrasing here), so she sat on it a bit longer, but got "bothered" by his words and felt she "had" to bring them to the fore.

what a total dipwad. Is that transparent, or what? "Obama supporter" my freakin ass. Any true Obama supporter would have known immediately what he was talking about and would NOT have felt it was his or her "duty" to start a scandal by repeating a few words out of context with that kind of scandalized nuance.

Clinton plant, yes, or repuke plant--more and more, they're starting to seem like one and the same.

But as usual, the desperate bullshit failed and Obama, with his Midas touch, turned the "scandal" to his advantage.

She was saving this one for just before the election, but had to fire it early.

Now Obama has time to counter, and Hillary will be out of ammunition when she wants to fire another attack just before the election.

This from a woman who owns TWO mansions and whose combined income with her husband is over $100 million.

At the very, very worst, Obama might lose a couple of points in Pennsylvania before it blows over, but he's got a week to bring it back up. If this was the bombshell, it was pretty much of a dud.

As for the "bombshell" thing, I thought it originated at The National Review:

http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YmJiNWI2MWU2NWZmYmE5MTVmZWVkYTRlYTljYmZiZDA=

If a Bombshell Will Drop in Pennsylvania, It Will Drop a Week From Now

A smart political operative said within earshot of me yesterday that if Hillary has more metaphorical bombshells to drop on Obama — and this operative has heard secondhand that she does — she'll do so between April 16, the date of her next debate with Obama, and April 22, Pennsylvania's primary day. The timing, of course, is so she doesn't get asked about it by the moderator or confronted by Obama.

Media manufactured, I'll easily buy.

Hillary taking advantage of a media manufactured storm I'll easily buy (politics ain't bean bag).

But feeding an out of context snippet to the media to start a manufactured storm, when I have to believe she's smart enough to know what he meant -that would suck.
