IS 'BITTER' STICKING IN NORTH CAROLINA? - MSNBC
As is evident from political journalists' email boxes today, the Clinton campaign appears to believe it's found a silver bullet -- served with a side of brie and chardonnay -- in Obama's recent controversial comments.

On the same day that Obama's opponents keep their eyes peeled for outrage from small-town America, Bill Clinton is doing a marathon six-stop campaign day in rural eastern North Carolina, a swing billed by one supporter as a "Barbeque Tour."

But the issue doesn't seem to be sticking. Clinton himself has been silent on the issue. But at the first two events of the day, the campaign has sent one of Carolina's hometown boys out to push the issue before Clinton takes the stage. Tom Hendrickson, a Clinton supporter and former Democratic Party chairman, included a reading of Obama's comments in his introduction of Clinton.

....

Yet it's unclear how spontaneous the sentiment was. A boxful of the stickers was spotted at Clinton's first event of the day -- being whisked backstage.

18. She is such a bullshit meter. I saw her on CNN saying
" I was so SHOCKED at Obama's comment " Oh god. I almost can't stand it anymore - when I hear her voice I turn the channel. She is almost as annoying as shrub and that is saying a LOT

They've made their own web. At least we know where the GOP is going to be coming from, since the Clintonians are their front team.

This is pathetic. I really think the American people might REALLY be sick of someone telling them what to THINK (bush).
Now we have this >

"Senator Obama, don't pity us and think that we're bitter and frustrated," he said in Winterville this morning. "We are hard-working family folks who are smart, and we get it. We don't need pundits to tell us what to think."

IOW . THINK that Obama PITIES YOU! A Black Man! Looking down his nose! THINK ABOUT THAT!
THINK, We're smarter, better, different! He doesn't get it.
THINK that no one is telling you what to THINK because I just told you what to THINK and that is the only correct way to THINK!

That stupid? Conned that easily? After 8 years of the Great Pretender? Goddess let's pray not.

From either side of the aisle.

8. Without a doubt.
I've actually gotten a lot of crap for repeatedly saying that the worst move she ever made was to hire Penn and Wolfson in the first place.

When the history of this primary is written, Mark Penn and Howard Wolfson will shoulder the blame for her loss. Just about every piece of advice they've given her has been wrong.

They should be drummed out of the business - but like fellow hacks like Bob Shrum before them, they'll continue to get advisor gigs because they'll have Hillary Clinton's name on their resumes.

5. I'd advise the Clinton Campaign to drop the issue as it is a long term loss.
It is not going to stick. It will bounce around and draw eyes away from Bills comments and the rebirth of Snipergate. However, Obama's statements back on the matter are sticking.

I figure if Clinton drops this Obama will have to tune down as well and she can move the conversation away from topics that harm her campaign.

The Campaign's choice.

6. I wonder if Clinton planted the quote on Huffpost? When was it posted?
For something that came out of nowhere late on a Friday afternoon filled with discussions of Bill Clinton's gaffes, Hillary seemed awfully well prepared to jump on it. Too bad she just handed Obama a prize by demonstrating pandering in action.

9. one of her goons posed as an "Obama supporter" & infiltrated a private fundraiser
the original blog post that started it:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mayhill-fowler/obama-no-s...

there was also a thread with a lot of discussion copied from Kos that was quite interesting, but I'm not sure how to find that right now.

19. Those were grassroots stickers
LOL

They can't get more than 25 people to assembe a protest in NY but they can come up with well done stickers in 24 hours.

They were planning this for later this week. Bill brought back the sniper thing and they had to drop the bomb a week early to get the media talking about Obama again.

10. What a small, pathetic existence the Clintons....
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 08:10 PM by TwoSparkles
...inhabit.

They scan the landscape, like vultures--looking for any signs of weakness into which they
can dig their talons.

Any misspoken sentence that can be twisted into something sinister--will be twisted. Any speech that can be
spun into an unrecognizable insult---will be spun.

They'll slash and shred over and over and over and over---until their prey is unrecognizable and bloodied.

It's what the Clintons do. It's the method on which they thrive. It's the only way they can win.

What's happening now is a dream come true for the Clintons. Right now, they're high-fiving and popping corks
on wine bottles. Glimmers of hope seep through the fractures they create, with their campaign sledgehammer.

They'll feast on this twisting, mis-characterizing and gossiping for days--hoping that it inspires other
small-brained creatures to sharpen their talons as well.

Be sickened. Be very sickened.

12. I guess it's safe to say Hillary Clinton Can't Win
on the issues that matter to people...she can't win of her own accord. That's satisfying to me.

She has to pick some "gaffe" and twist it, in order to try and revive her campaign. How pathetic, what a loser.

Not this time Hillary! Your game is not working!

17. 80% of Americans think we're on the wrong track and in a recession.
And no Democrats are in the 20% who think things are OK.

It's not a stretch to think that many voters are bitter, and they know it.
