I got a call earlier today from Jane Dolan, my county superviosr (and Bob Mulholland's wife) asking me to attend the caucus tomorrow at City Hall from 2pm -3pm in Chico

I will be there (if she will vote for my candidate) which I am going to check right now.

She is a fairly decent supervisor-but her hubby is the person that made the snide comment about net activists...

But to get to Denver, an applicant must win today's delegate elections. The Clinton and Obama camps are holding separate caucus elections in every California Congressional District to choose their respective delegations, and the crush of candidates has already inspired concerns of espionage. Neither campaign wants a turncoat showing up in Denver.

Last week, the Clinton campaign struck 50 people from its statewide list and the Obama operation deleted 900 in an effort to ferret out those not sufficiently devoted to their candidate. However, hours after an online revolt about the deletions among their supporters, Obama officials restored nearly all their delegate nominees.

Still, the math is daunting this year for wannabe delegates: 2,850 people applied to be one of 241 delegates, plus 40 alternates. One of the most competitive races will be in Rep. Barbara Lee's East Bay district, where 101 people will battle for five slots - two male, three female - to become an Obama delegate.

"I wouldn't recommend showing up with just your spouse and your mother-in-law," said Democratic Party adviser Bob Mulholland, even though that combination might have been enough to win in past years.
