I wonder why the Hillary camp waited almost a WEEK to muster up their poutrage
over the bitter speech? I think they were going to unleash it closer to PA and then Bill had to remind people that Hillary lied about Bosnia. They needed a quick diversion and they panicked. Blew their wad too soon.....

2. They had it in the bank, that's for sure
and I agree with you. The withdrawal happened earlier than planned because they didn't think they could afford a bad weekend of press. If this had been released a week later, Obama would have had no time recover.

32. I don't think Bill wants her to win.....
he has sabotaged her campaign at every turn. I've long suspected this to be the case; now I am sure of it.

There was just NO reason to bring up Bosnia again IF they were indeed sitting on the Obama bombshell.

4. Yep
Dead on.

Find it odd that her and McCain had everything ready to go at the same time as well. Find it real odd she had stickers and everything ready to go from her "grassroots" people to hand out at the rallys. She saw something in the polling she didn't like.

I noticed it last week when she started with the negative attack on radio. Something wasn't going well for her out here.

Wait another 48 hours. We'll see how this plays out.

8. so they could have the "bitter" stickers pre printed

See - Is “Bitter” Sticking in North Carolina?

Go to First Read at MSNBC, and take a look at the comments. Hell yeh people ARE bitter.
Here one person points out that this whole story isn't "news", but a pre manufactured hit.Senator Clinton's response was planned a week in advance before dropping this "bombshell":

Spontaneous? Can't be very "spontaneous" if there were already stickers made up indicating "I'm not bitter"!! It appears that this video clip was made last week at a closed fundraiser, and was alluded to as "something big" coming by the Clinton camp ~ funny how it got released at the end of the day on Friday, and the stickers are all ready for distribution during the weekend stumps!! The Clinton and McCain camps should be ashamed of themselves ~ they stoop to all depths!! I'm white, I'm "old", I'm a woman, I'm a retired elementary school teacher, and I've never had the money to do the things that the Clintons and the McCains are privileged to do. But I have strong moral values and personal integrity, and believe that Senator Obama speaks to me and for me. PA, IN, NC: Please think about what the Clinton and McCain camps are saying through their actions. Demeaning? Elitist? That is NOT Senator Obama!

14. try to follow along
They were saving this story to use closer to PA. Bill got the sudden urge to taste his toes and brought up Hillary's Bosnia lie, reminding everyone about it just when it finally started to fade. Hillary's camp needed a quick diversion, so they used the story now instead of later. Why else did they already wait a week before mentioning it?

15. they're practicing POlitics??!! In a PREsidential ELection???!!!
Oh, my!

No one told Obama to grace us all with his infinite wisdom. The Clinton campaign is free to respond to all of that, whenever and wherever they please. Obama needs to buck up and deal with it. He doesn't need hysterical supporters flailing around defending what he's already admitted was a poor choice of words. He put his own foot in his mouth. Blaming everyone who criticizes him for his offensive statements in this campaign and expecting them to follow his script is delusional.

16. delusional?
a hillbot calls US delusional?

If his remarks were so outrageous, why did it take a week to get mentioned?

So when Obama finishes kicking Hilla(R)y's fucking ass, don't cry...it's just POlitics...right?

I think you know what you and the rest of you hillbots can do with your faux outrage. Since you seem to be slow of wit, it involves sticking it where the sun doth not shine, snapperhead.

Have a SUPER DUPER day.:hi:

25. old pal, we've been on the same page for a long time now
and I'd like to think that you're not so into one candidate that you are too forgiving of them, not seeing the forest for the big trees, etc.. :)

Just let me ask straight up which is worse, Obama saying something dumb this time, or telling a story (yes, Bosnia) for a full WEEK or more that was a complete Lie, proven by video..

Seriously, it IS up to those who feel slighted and dont vote in the end, being politics and all, but personally, Hillary is either a liar or delusional because of the fairy tale, which kicked her soundly off my list (yeah, there's other things as well), and Obama's statement rang true to me.. Hell, we may get forclosed upon soon, so I'm bitter as hell.. :)

I want to be pals with as many as possible here, but the desperation of Clinton is chilling my bones..

Just think about how many opportunities Obama has had to Slam her, and he hasn't.. Makes me feel like he's for Real..

Just wanted to put that out there, not here to argue with old pals after all we've been through here :)

12. Even worse than snipergate was this video
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x117100

so yes I agree that they were planning on it closer to the primary. However, If she had let Snipergate 2.0 and Billgate grow out of control then Bittergate would not have worked.

If she causes Obama to lose the general election she may as well move back to that big house in New York with Bill and his "girls". The senate will be a hostile environment for her. Then again she can always cross the aisle and make nice with her new buddies. They will just love her for giving the republicans another 4 years in office.

If she weren't a woman and if she weren't married to Bill, she'd have been out of this contest long ago.

20. You know
This brings up an interesting idea....Just who was that person who recorded that speach at that fundraiser. Wasn't tape recorders not allowed? Also why did his campaign say cannot confirm or deny...what the heck? If Hillary has a spy in Obama's camp what else could there be that will land in the media and slap Obama in the face? It is obvious he did not want those comments about bitter to be public. WEll mr. Obama they are public and your response to it just doesnt wash with me.

28. I think I know why...
After Hillary's EMBARRASSING moment in front of the press, laughing maniacally, not be able or refusing to answer the question re: conflict of interest - they HAD to do something. It truly was an Ashley Simpson SNL Jig moment.

They could not let the news cycle end that day with THAT being the biggest story, and it was. So they threw this story out there to deflect having to answer any follow up questions re: that. Smart strategy, but not smart enough. Not by a long shot.

Obama had the PERFECT response to their criticisms. If you don't think middle or lower class Americans aren't bitter, then you clearly AREN'T ONE or do not live in reality with the rest of us. Period.

I'm lower-middle class and I'm bitter as hell. Our government has fucked up and fucked us over... and over and over. Saying there is no bitterness, no anger, no outrage - YOU are out of touch.
