End Game.
The democratic primary season is drawing to a close. Voting has been going on for over three months. I believe the last primary is PR on June 4. Both candidates will likely be in the race on that date, some 6 weeks from now, but I'll confidently predict that it won't go on more than a week or so beyond that. Why? SDs and party movers and shakers do NOT want this going to a contentious convention, two months from the freakin' general election. They know that if that happens John McCain will have an almost insurmountable lead. You really, really think they're going to let that happen? Slim to no chance of that. One way or another, they'll make their choice known and put either Obama or Clinton over the top, and the loser will drop out. Why? To do otherwise would destroy that person's political career. Personally, I think the nominee by the middle of June will be Obama, but as almost anything could happen, it may end up being Hillary- if Obama completely implodes, and that's not likely.

So, in two months or so, all this will be over. And man, do I look forward to that.

1. Yep.
By then, you'll have driven off everyone who is unworthy. ...Which will leave who and how many of you whos?

2. Wow. You sure do invest me with a lot of power
that I don't have. Are you even capable of addressing the points I made? And I suggest you stop lecturing others about throwing around insults. You do plenty of that yourself.

3. Cali, I'm with you on this, except I hope it ends sooner.
One thing many people seem to forget is that the primaries will STILL be held. And, I'm sure Obama will continue to engage with people in the remaining states so keep things going for November. In the same way that the Republicans keep having their primaries as well--we don't hear them complaining about their voices not being heard (of course, I don't frequent their sites, but still...).

If I were a superdelegate, I would be looking not only at the issues (the candidates are close on the issues, anyway), but also who makes the best case for winning the "hearts and minds" of the country at large. As her numbers have gone down, Hillary has not shown GRACE UNDER FIRE, which is critical for rebuilding the country and its image around the world. She's already ticked off Gordon Brown and the Bosnians, and her staffer who started the NAFTA meddling created a mini-crisis for the Canadians. AND she is still only a candidate!! Are we supposed to believe that being the President she will suddenly develop talents we have not yet seen from her?

So I hope the SDs take a good look at the two candidates and come off the fence!

4. I'm just relieved that the end is in sight
and I think the SDs are fully cognizant of the perils of this race going to the convention. I also think that Hillary does herself no favors with SDs when she attacks Obama like this- using a right wing frame and wingnuts like Norquist.
