Berks County, PA - Several plants in Berks County closed in 2007 or announced plans to close, causing the loss of hundreds of jobs as well as some legendary business names in the area.

The biggest job loss, of 310 jobs, was announced in April when the Hershey Co. said it will close the Reading factory that makes York Peppermint Patties and 5th Avenue Bars.
