Holy F#^&ING HALLELUJAH!!! Ma Eldritch voting for OBAMA!!
My Faux News watching, Reagan/Bush loving, Limbaugh-listening mother just told me a few minutes ago that she's planning on voting for Obama!

I asked; "Why Obama?"

Her answer was gold; "Because I just don't trust McCain."

I know, I shouldn't be so worked up over it, but for years they've believed everything the right wing has been telling them... and Ma and Pa Eldritch are very intelligent, highly educated people. I've mentioned it before on more than a few occasions.

I've been trying to get them to see the light for years, to no avail although I've remained hopeful. Then along comes Barack Obama and *poof*, she's voting democrat for the first time in her life!

I told her to go to his site and brush up on where he stands... "No one should vote without knowing what they're voting for." I'm sure that she'll be locked in if she goes there.

This summer I'll be going to the cape, and we'll see if Pa Eldritch can come around. If Obama can get him to vote for a Democrat, then walking on water would be child's play.

1. We'll need every little bit to make up for the Clinton supporting turncoats.

3. One isn't a turncoat merely for supporting Clinton.
But I'm very curious to find out just how many Clinton supporters have criticized the DLC.

5. My best to Ma. Tell her we appreciate it.
Moms are the best. Mine died at 85 in 2003, and I miss her most every day.

14. So sorry.
She seems to have done well by you.

Knowing that one of the most constant parts of your life will eventually be gone is hard, I can barely imagine facing that reality.

Mom's been great, and she's still a person I wish I could better emulate. I just hope she's happy with how she's done... and I think she is.

Thank you. I'll mention it.

6. It's people like your ma that will more than make up for the 30% Clintonistas who say
they will vote for McCain if Obama is the nominee.

12. We'll be seeing many, many more.
Like I said, it's going to be a bloodbath for Republicans this year.

15. From my discussions, there will be more than a few Repubs who will vote for Obama in November.
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 12:04 AM by kwenu
Texas has been hit really hard by casualties from the Iraq war and I know tried and true Republicans who have been shattered from going to war veteran events and seeing all these kids fill the room with missing limbs and metal plates in their heads. I have seen the most hardened supporters of the Iraq war turn on Bush and the war. They will NOT vote for a continuation of this war and that is EXACTLY what McCain presents. They'll take their own arms off before voting for Hillary though so in that case they'll just stay home.

16. We're going to see a VERY 'blue' America this November.
I didn't mention this, but Mom also said that she could never vote for Clinton.

There is no doubt that Obama will bring a bloodbath to Republicans. After these last several years of insanity, I'm looking forward to it.
