First movie with Gene Wilder: WILLY WONKA and the Chocolate Factory.
Second movie with Johnny Depp: CHARLIE and the Chocolate Factory.

The Depp movie was much closer to the original book, CHARLIE and the Chocolate Factory, by Roald Dahl.

But for what it is worth, I preferred the first movie, too. :hi:

Will not watch either movie because of the Oompa-Loompas. This girl goes on the scariest carnival rides, watches the scariest movies, etc. but little Europeans painted orange with green wigs freaks her out too much.

I personally don't get it. In Charlie... it was just one guy computer animated over and over again so in that movie, they've got numbers on their side, but there was only 8 to 10 in Willy Wonka. She could take them.
