2. You're lucky. I'm in full rant mode this morning over it.
Once again the MSM are telling us what to think about Obama's remarks (which were true, BTW).

have time to inform yourself on the "big" political story that has dominated the internets, print news and tee-vee media since Friday?

It all started with this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mayhill-fowler/obama-no-surprise-that-ha_b_96188.html

4. My town's steel mills closed in 1960, 1977, and 1980
I read half that Mayhill Fowler piece yesterday when I got done digging the planting beds. Read the rest of it, quickly, now. An instruction for Californians to assess Pennsylvanians, I gather. I think Ms. Fowler from Tennessee is making some assumptions. I've got kin in extremely-rural Pennsylvania and most of them are atheist. None of them talk about going to church (at least).

BTW, *We* dealt with the closed mills by moving out of town or out of state.

The word "elitist" is not in Mayhill's article. At least I found out what ratiocinative means: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=ratiocinative

perhaps if you are not interested in a thread topic, you can use your litmited time to post on one that you are. HRC has been calliong Obama an "elitist" at campaign apprearances since Friday, based on Ms. Mayhill's report- that is where that comes from. She has also been distributing "I'm not bitter" stickers in Pa., and blowing a lot of smoke which means the destructive Dem. vs. Dem war is on again.

This has enornmous destructive potential for Democrats in the GE which is why it is getting a lot of attention here.

7. It is hardly a compliment to describe someone as being "bitter".

Maybe if Obama had said "some people get bitter" or "folks get angry" then it would be easier for folks to agree with him.

As it is, Obama clearly mis-spoke (unless he was intending to generalize and make assumptions about folks who live in small towns).

Imagine if Hillary implied that all African Americans are "bitter" because of FEMA's bungled response to Hurricane Katrina.

It is like taking attention away from the cause of the problem and focusing on the psychological "weakness" of the victims.

It either shows poor judgement or a lack of understanding, or a lack of ability to express your opinions clearly.
