Obama Corps beautifies Houston

Here is the true spirit of Obama supporters. Now that things have settled down on the Texas primary/caucus front, a team of Obama volunteers rolled up their sleeves this weekend.

The project was the Olivewood Cemetary. Olivewood Cemetery in the 1st Ward, and is one of the oldest cemeteries in Houston. The first free slaves were buried here and, in some cases, both slaves and their "masters" were buried together. It was left in neglect for a long time. Its a beautiful setting that need a lot of TLC. The kids from Yes Preparatory Academy designed and built the sign you see using a lot of their free time. They did a fantastic job. Special kudos to Brad and Jul;ie - but really, to everyone there.

(As an aside, Houston doesn't have that many landmarks! - We usually bulldoze them to build giant glass buildings).
