533. Hillary "ducks" question about last time she went duck hunting
I agree. I too am done with the Clintons. If I had access to the Internet back then & all the info I have access to now, I would never have voted for Bill Clinton for president either.

Yesterday on CNN a reporter asked Hillary when was the last time she had attended church and when was the last time she'd gone duck hunting or shot a gun. Hillary responded the questions were "irrelevant."

Obviously we have another Bosnian moment in the making but the mainstream reporter failed to push for answers.

Hillary just doesn't get it - in this age of the Internet, you cannot tell fictional stories as truth and expect the corporate media to cover for you once the Internet bloggers grab hold of the stories.

My main fear is that Hillary & Bill realize she cannot mathematically score enough delegates to gain the nomination so she will do one of 2 things:
1) keep attacking Obama in the hopes of destroying him in the eyes of the super delegates to gain the nomination
or
2) keep attacking Obama in the hopes of destroying his chance of getting elected in November so she can try again in 4 years.

It's amazing that the Democrats had the ability to take back the White House this year and is letting it blow up in their faces because of one narcissistic, egomaniac named Hillary Clinton.

:argh:

591. No, what's bad is Hardball's blowjobbing McCain with "He doesn't support torture."
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 07:46 PM by awaysidetraveler
When, of course, ABC recognizes he already has.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/02/did-mccain-flip.html

Now naturally, one might just say that the CIA doesn't ever support torture,
though there are facts that run contrary to that idea.

By now there is evidence that they do in a number of countries, beginning in Iraq,
and continuing through El Salvador, Nicaragua, Laos, Iran, Vietnam, Cambodia,
and a number of others as well....

If anyone would care to add a country or two, please feel free.

Of course, even if the CIA had never tortured or advocated torture,
what exactly would be wrong with demanding that they never torture anyone in the future?

What exactly is wrong with demanding that our government never torture anyone?

Or maybe there's a better question: Why are "Hardball's" balls so hard that they need to advocate torture?

I think Cheney only touches himself when it involves violence, killing, and big money for him, but it would appear the senator is trying to help him continue on his path.

If it's at all possible, she irritates me more than bush does, and the fact is, that is a PERFECT republican ad. I think she should just get it over with - switch parties, be McCain's VP, and get slaughtered (not literally, of course), in the GE.

Sure YOU can laugh - she's not YOUR senator!!

527. I think the Gore theft is perhaps more complex than that.
There are many factors. Including a Gore campaign that was mired in "trying to appear" to be many different things. Gore didn't really take off until he was fully himself.

I have this idea that this is why Obama is such a phenomenon. He is actually speaking from his deepest beliefs. Young people respond well to that every time. And I do mean Every time.

Us old shitheads are used to the phony political crap, but more have come to reject it. It's a new era. Sen.Clinton would have done much better in her bid in the last century.

that Gore won when the votes were counted in Florida.

It was The popular vote nation-wide that already had Gore ahead with over 500,000 votes. America did not ask for any of this.

No wonder we're so bitter.

345. IMO, she is trying to ensure, since she can't win, that McCain will win....
...Because if Obama gains the White House, the Clintons' new-found Elite status, chumming around with the Bushes and all, will come to a screaching halt.

The Elites want to maintain control of the White House so they can continue to ensure that, like the Clintons, their political power can be sold to the highest bidder AND they can continue to loot the country's coffers.

Hillary has clearly lost the primary, so she is desperate to make sure McCain wins.

That's how I see it. I can't see the patterns coming out any other way.

That was loooooooooong before she ever decided to run for POTUS that I came to intensely dislike her and that was well before I ever heard of Obama. Guess that is hard for you to understand that it has NOTHING to do with Obama that I am totally against her and have always been and that Hillary is simply a very unlikable jackass.

468. I liked Hillary way more
before all this election stuff...my opinion of her has drooped lower the longer she goes on.

The thing is nothing ...zip...zilch ...zero..nothing Obama's camp has said about Hillary changed my opinion of her. I liked her. I wanted Obama to win but was happy to have Hillary if it worked out that way.

Then her campaign took on a Bush like feeling. The Misspeak,The fake outrage just felt all to familiar. When she said stupid things like say Obama was not a Muslim .......as far as she knew...it just wreaked of the slime that has been the Bush legacy.

Hillary is the only one who has changed my opinion of Hillary..and its sad ..because I think she may have done irreparable damage to herself.

I always thought she was unfairly maligned, but this campaign makes me think I had blinders on. Obama did not talk about how she lied about Sniper fire, but then she uses mock outrage to sting him so she can gain points. I have judged her entirely on her actions (okay and those of her husband too) and realized she is horrible.

259. you just said everything I feel about Hillary
I hate that woman. Every time I see her speak I watch her face. Her cold calculating eyes. The way she watches the audience for reaction. Nothing is ever from the heart (what heart?). She says the most evil lies and with a straight face. She'll say and do anything to get in the White House. Including destroying her own party and the person who will get the nomination.
If she were campaigning near a stripper bar she'd probably do a pole dance.
Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. Ice Queen.

434. This has been especially tough on me.
During the 1990s I defended the Clintons to the death. I didn't talk with my best friend for several years because he thought the persecution of the Clintons was just wonderful. Now, my 89 year old mother loves Hillary. I can't for my life understand her thinking. She will no longer even mention Hillary because she knows I will blow up. Isn't it sad when it gets to the point where you will yell at your 89 year old mother. Geesh. This is effecting my health.

449. If you can't handle politics without yelling at your 89-year-old mother, you need to step away
for a bit.

It's not healthy for you, and it's DEFINITELY not healthy for her. You're an adult, you should be able to handle differences without blowing up on an elderly woman. What's sad is you can't handle that. I don't think politics really have anything to do with it. It's a maturity thing on your part.

Both states kick ass, but a vocal contingent (10% or so) of assholes who hail from WV and/or NJ ruin it for the rest of us.

Hey, living in Morgantown, I run into a ton of people from NJ. And I must say, most of them are really cool, and one or two I count among the coolest people I know.

I call for solidarity between those of us who hail from states of ill-repute, deserved or otherwise. Including Texans.

Indeed. After all, no Hillary supporter has EVER had a hairy cat fit when Hillary fucked up
and Obama used it.

Meanwhile, part of the outrage appears to be coming from the opinion by some that he didn't fuck up, but merely spoke an inconvenient truth, something I rather like about the man. It is not a fuck up when he tells people what they don't what to hear. I find it refreshing to have someone not playing politics as usual.

This is all about how low the candidate is willing to sink, and Hillary has won that competition.

Obama doesn't exploit even the most outrageous of "fuck ups" like Hillary's sniper fire comment.

Hillary on the other hand, takes the most NEGATIVE spin on a finer point Obama was making and makes a fucking campaign ad out of it.

Hillary is pond scum.

Every time you folks find a single poll that shows Obama going downward, you post and say that exact same thing. "Obama is sinking." Absolute and complete bullshit. Gallup has him holding steady and even expanding his lead over Clinton. Most other polls have him staying the same. I remember after the Wright incident all the posters saying how he was sinking like a stone. Well, he's still leading all these weeks later. So give it up.

This is the most ridiculous line of bullshit in the history of politics. Bitter = condescending and elitist? His words = faith is insulted?

Stupid and dishonest. Beyond stupid and dishonest. Nauseating.

And, just to set your mind at ease, I'm not an Obama supporter except insofar as he is our likely nominee. Like many at DU, Obama was my second to last choice, slightly ahead of Rodham Clinton. Cheap crap like this advertisement makes it very easy to resolve my doubts about Obama, however. As iffy as his appeal may be, he is not the scumbag that Hillary Rodham Clinton shows herself to be with this piece of garbage.

He fucked up? You are not fooling anybody with that crock of shit.

I am starting to wonder if she wants McCain to win, do four years, and then she will get another shot. The party elders can't be happy about this slash and burn when we have the first real chance to take the white house in years. I hope the primaries end soon, whoever wins.

498. Hillary "fucks up" as you say, all the time.
Do you see Obama taking out add campaigns simply to smear her? Did you see a Bosnian commercial from the Obama side? He takes out adds to talk about his strong points. She takes out adds to talk about his weak points. One takes the high road while the other takes the low road, and it's been like that consistently. How Hillary supporters cannot see that is beyond troubling. Not even McCain is bashing Obama as hard as Hillary has been. Straight gutter politics, and if the polls are any indication, the majority of voters are sick of it.

I can't stand either one of them and haven't been able to for a long time both were pretty much at the bottom of my list from the beginning (maybe ahead of Gravel - but now I'm thinking he might be preferable. At least he didn't pander 24 hours a day and was certainly not a corporate sellout). At least I've had time to come to grips with the idea that I will not be happy when I cast my vote for the Democratic nominee this November. Of course, this isn't the first time I've been less than thrilled over the Democrat I was stuck voting for - I just think it's harder this time because I was so looking forward to this election and then we wind up with these two to choose from. What a disappointment.

118. Her sniper fire comments were her distorting the truth several times to
misrepresent what happened. That wasn't Obama taking her comment and twisting it into something it wasn't. She herself lied. This bitter mess is the result of her and her campaign purposefully taking his words and making it into something it wasn't. If you listen to what those 3 people in the commercial are saying, you'll see it is not what he was talking about. When you guys continue this mess, you are hurting the Democratic party. You are celebrating Hillary using Republican tactics, 'when you have a losing campaign, start the smear and fear tactics'.

507. She should call people "bitter". They are.
And please, tell me what was untrue about his words? Do the downtrodden cling to religion to get by in this world? "Blessed are the meek" anyone? Don't they "seak salvation" when there is nowhere else to turn? That was his point. What's untrue about it?

As for "guns", he's talking about gun control. There are people who vote for a candidate simply over that issue and little else. They really exist, and there are plenty of them. Which NRA members out there are going to vote for a candidate who is pro gun control? Of course that's why they vote the way they do.

So again, I challenge you... What is untrue about Obama's words about guns and religion?

I've been reading this posters comments for some time and the hardest part
is seeing the Wellstone name so misused. As a Minnesotan, I was fortunate enough to meet Senator Wellstone several times, and once, before he was running for Senate shared a stage with him as we both spoke of poverty. I saw how he treated people, and how at dinner events he thanked each of the waitstaff and would go to the kitchen to thank the people behind the scenes. Paul understood the folks in big cities, and small towns. He understood the feelings of powerlessness and the joy of having a voice.

I miss him. I wish those who choose his name for their own at sites like this would follow his example.

To this day Obama has said NOTHING about Hillary's sniper fantasy. He could have slammed her with it like he slammed her over her little Annie Oakley charade. You must be taking lessons from Bill on how to keep a festering wound open. Honestly, the fact that you would bring up such an embarassing episode in her campaign in order to defend her just shows how desperate things are over there for you guys.

Whoever the nominee is, we need a democrat in the White House. Think about the country with another eight or twelve or more years of Republican misrule. This is the chance of a generation. The House and Senate will be firmly ours. We must have the White House too for an effective counter revolution to the Bush years.

You are goddamned right I am bitter, and I watched my neighbors and friends adhere to their core cultural beliefs in the same way Obama described while their jobs and way of life eroded.

The government hasn't cared for years about the economic interests of average Americans....either party...all there is left to vote on when you are getting screwed are cultural issues.

Damn, I REALLY try not to overdo it on the dislike but...
This is disgusting. Obama didn't say it very artfully at all but let's get real here... most of us know exactly what the hell he was talking about and a whole lot of us would agree with the basic point, getting past this stupid fake outrage. I fully believe she meant to cover up her rather uncomfortable, semi-hysterical cackle -- video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tngWyRHIjYU -- at being asked about the conflict of interest concerning the Columbia Free Trade Agreement, and that she'd been holding onto that recording of Obama since it happened, thanks to the shill, Mayhill Fowler, who posted about it to the Huffington Post. The pre-printed BOX of "I'm Not Bitter" stickers her campaign had at that event really sells it for me. Create an outrageous story as a massive distraction from the embarrassment that was that laugh, and milk it for all it's worth... that's the game.

I'm beginning to believe it's blowing up WAY beyond what she expected but that she's FULLY taking advantage of this. She's done the internal polling and no doubt she knows where she stands in the race, so why try to cripple Obama this way? A fucking AD? Seriously? That stammering laugh and non-answer of hers was VERY embarrassing and with a little more play it could have been her Dean Scream but instead, she's blown the "bombshell" she intended to release just before the PA vote. I really can't take much more of this woman. I just can't. Someone needs to set the damn record straight about WHY she is doing this. She's making it VERY hard for me to want to support her, should she get the nomination. I will have to because I cannot support McCain, but DAMN is she making it hard. I don't think a thousand showers could get the stink of that vote off of me, should she win it, and I'm just sad about it because I've never had to consider voting that way before.

I almost wish Obama would release an ad featuring that horrendous stammer-laugh/non-reply to the Columbia Free Trade Agreement question, but he's got much more class than that. Too bad I can't say the same for Hillary. I'm sorry, Hillary supporters, but I don't understand how you can support this sort of disgusting behavior towards a fellow Democrat who is quite likely to be the nominee. She's really backed herself into a corner on several issues.

And if anyone truely think Obama said what Hillary is trying to present in the ad, they really need to go take a course in critical thinking...

What? Hillary is now Charlton Heston on guns and Jerry Falwell on Jesus?

What a shitty ad.

Obama clearly made a mistake. Hillary looks like an ambulance chaser now.

Whatever "mileage" the Clintons had gotten from Obama's mistake is now lost.

This will backfire.

This is way too opportunistic.

100. Predictable
I'm sorry, but this was inevitable. For the thousandth time, Hillary is DLC and the job of the DLC is to make sure populism never rises again in America. Whether Republicans or Democratics run things, the corporations will always hold sway. This campaign of self-destruction that we are all witnessing is a scorched-earth strategy to discredit the presumptive nominee of the Democratic party and install the Republican neo-con into the Presidency. Why? Because the DLC is not going to get to do it the way things are going....and a potential populist might get the White House.

This is a nightmare scenario for the PNACers....all of their plans could come to ruin of the people are allowed access to their government again.

If Hillary had won the nomination, the corporations would continue to rule. This is acceptable.

By all accounts, she is not going to win, so plan B goes into effect.....destroy the nominee...get people disillusioned with politics and the Democratic party...make them disengage.

Is it going to work? I have no idea, but I can tell you that for the first time in my memory, it has a chance of NOT working. I am hoping this blows up in Hillary's DLC-loving face.

114. wow
I saw this on the David Gregory show, and I have a lot of the same reaction as many of you have. It looks like something a Republican would run.

Hillary needs to be more careful. Even if she gets the nomination, she is going to be facing a divided party, just like Obama will face if he is the nominee. The polls suggest that there are more Hillary voters that wouldn't vote for Obama, than there are Obama voters that wouldn't vote for Hillary. I wouldn't count on that so much now. I think that a lot of Obama supporters say that they will be a good democrat and vote for Hillary, because they think that she has already lost.
A lot of Democrats I know that defended Hillary and Bill all through the 90s are even wondering if she WILL be able to slay off the attacks of the right wing anymore. In the 90s, much of the defense of the attacks was the "It's us against them, it's the right wing conspiracy" nature. When she has faced scrutiny for the Bosnia incident, she said that she misspoke, but that it just proved she was human, which was a "revelation" to some. Bill Clinton was saying last week that the media made a much bigger deal of the Bosnia story than was waranted (the "Media Conspiracy") theme. Even when Hillary was asked about the Colombian free trade deal that her husband worked towards, she was speechless. She could have used it as a strong moment to assert the differences between her and her husband...it could have been so good for her. She truly seemed shocked that a reporter even asked her the question. There have been so many areas where the strategy has been off...not only does she go negative, but she does it in such a distasteful way that it almost negates the point she is making. But Who knows. Maybe this is "Hillary's Big Break". But the ways in which she has miscalculated certain strategies during this primary makes me wonder if she would be any better in the general, or if it would just be excuses.

Here’s the script of Clinton’s new ad:

Clinton: “I'm Hillary Clinton and I approve this message.”

Announcer: “Barack Obama said that people in small towns ‘cling to guns or religion … as a way to explain their frustrations.’ ”

Woman 1: “I was very insulted by Barack Obama.”

Man 1: “It just shows how out of touch Barack Obama is.”

Woman 2: “I'm not clinging to my faith out of frustration and bitterness. I find that my faith is very uplifting.”
Man 2: “The good people of Pennsylvania deserve a lot better than what Barack Obama said.”

Woman 1: “Hillary does understand the citizens of Pennsylvania better.”

Woman 3: “Hillary Clinton has been fighting for people like us her whole life.”

You obviously don't even know that among the FIRST things that Clinton did after the swearing-in is to move to ELIMINATE THE PROHIBITION AGAINST GAYS SERVING OPENLY IN THE MILITARY.

and that DADT was the result of REPUKES insisting on officially BANNING Gays from serving in the military, and basically DADT says it's NOBODY'S BUSINESS IF YOU'RE GAY - right?!

LEARN THE HISTORY BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR IGNORANT TRAP...

BILL AND HILLARY ARE THE BEST FRIENDS GAY PERSONS EVER HAD IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

I thought that she couldn't go any lower but I was wrong.

She's so fucking foul that I can say right now that I will never, ever in my life vote for anyone whose name is Clinton.

If there were ever any doubt about it in my mind before it is gone, she is a Republican.

Is there really any difference between her and McCain?

283. Sad. Hillary could have made a better ad. Here is what she could have done.
She could have picked up on the bitter thing and chastise McCain for attacking Obama. (this would show her as a fighter AGAINST McCain). Then turn it around on Obama by showing how Hillary would be better suited to make government more responsive to the people, with health care, etc. This is a tack she and her multi-million-dollar aides COULD have taken. Imagine...a Hillary ad that actually promotes Hillary instead of ganging up on Obama with her buddy McCain! I know it is hard to imagine something like this, but this is an ad she COULD have made.

Sad thing and very revealing is that Hillary at NO POINT says any reason why she is better....it is 100% dirt.

So much for a town called Hope.

That well thought out "3AM" ad really turned out well for her, didn't it? Same MO as this ad. The only times she's talked about us little guys was the hospital speech. Oh that went well too didn't it? Should I mention the Bosnia speech? Ouch..

From what I've seen she's either lying, praising the Republicans and attacking her fellow Democrats. Oh I forgot her ties to Corporate America and the DC elite. Just what I want in my next president.

and picking over minutiae. I am more impressed with a candidate that can rise above small minded attacks and move on to more important issues, we have so many of them. 216. What I find odd
is how mild the ad is. She leaves out Obama's suggestion that some poor rural voters cling to antipathy towards memebers of other races, cultures, etc. ("antipathy to people who aren't like them") as a way to explain their frustration. (I know, I'm taking him out of context: Obama was just sympathizing with these people. How could someone be insulted by the suggestion that because of the failures of government, he is not only bitter, but clings to antipathy towards people who aren't like him as a way to explain his frustrations? ) It seems to me that Hillary is just unwilling to do what it takes to win.

I wonder if Obama should just have been honest and admitted that what he said was not flattering, but nevertheless it is simply true that some people resort to religion and antipathy towards others and anti-immigrant sentiment to rationalize their troubles, that he certainly didn't intend to suggest nor does he believe that all or most poor rural voters do this.

My own view is that criticizing Obama for saying something true is ridiculous.

He also said it's "not suprising". Which means it's justified.

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. ... And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising..."

Another good line Clinton ignored: "they fell through the Clinton Administration".

She's playing old time politics. Millions are sick of it. this may be the end of this kind of crap in presidential elections.

Needs our support. Volunteer, contribute time and money if you can. We can be the differnce. Our voice is more powerful that the powerful special interest and the few connected. Yes we must hope and believe in that hope that we are taking our government back our country back. As the non-Obama supporters to check out Obama's document "Blueprint For Change"... It is an impressive outline of change that we can believe in... If you want to know about Obama's "Agenda", this document is where you will learn the truth and you will likely be pretty surprised. If you continue to allow the media to brainwash you with garbage about who Barack Obama is and what he stands for, without having the thoughtfulness, judgment or character to find out for yourself then your probably an old fool who has been so condition to be suckered you just take it naturally. Young people are taking more responsibility in this election like never before as they see their parents and grandparents hurting and struggling and bitter and feeling nearly helpless due to the harse economic strain.

454. Hi Woolly..
I'm a pastor in Allentown.
Which could be contrued as Hillary turf,
but I see more Obama yard signs than Clintons.

I've been meticulous in keeping on an even keel
politically in the congregation..
which I need to do.. gotta be objective,
I have many in membership who are strong republicans,
and I don't want to alienate them.
Just gently make them think about the issues...
you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar...
something the Clinton campaign has forgotten.

276. HC wants to destroy Obama's candidacy,
help McCain run in '08 so she could run in '12. Or she just want to destroy Obama's chances for the WH even if she has no chance to get the Democratic nomination, ever. Probably, all of the above. HC is showing what she is showing her true hard-as-nails, ruthless self.

Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 10:19 PM by junofeb
Her supporters hold the supreme court and women's rights over us as a form of blackmail to assure our votes for 'a dem' (preferably Hillary) in the fall no matter what. But Hillary and her supporters seem to be making it abundantly clear that if she doen't get the nom this time, her supporters, especially that traitorous 28% or so, will be more than happy to allow McCain in so Hill has a shot at 2012.

Whatta strategy. What hypocrisy.

edit to add a hearty WTF?, should anything they say matter now? Where's her 'feminist base' in all this?

309. I wish Move On would do an ad w Clinton choking when questioned about Bill's $800,000 from Colombia
Free Trade advocating. I know Sen Obama wouldn't stoop so low but her harping on this issue was an obvious way to distract on a REAL issue-that she is trying to convince voters she is AGAINST free trade while her chief strategist (at the time) mark Penn and her own husband are advocating for the passage of free trade w Colombia. Her damning choking response has been largely ignored by the media, while they focus on a out of context soundbite of Obama's for the last 3 days.

Why has that footage been buried? I never ONCE saw it on TV... only online. Surely this Obama bitterness thing isn't more riveting than actually watching Hillary become... hysterical. There's just no other word for her response to that question. Stammering and hysterical, arms waving, stuttering and wildly searching her brain for a reply. HARDLY presidential, in my opinion. Seriously, as I said above, that, if they didn't have the bitterness bone to chew on, really smacks of "Dean Scream" to me. Does it not? I actually felt embarrassed for her watching that non-answer. Embarrassed and well... I guess sad would be a kind word for it. Unbelieveable. To me, the Colombia thing is very MUCH a real issue while this "bitter" thing... I get the impression nobody cares but the MSM. They're trying to make people care but I really don't think it's working. People seem sick of the distraction but they just don't care. They'll run that word into the ground. BAH!

Clinton grew up in an upper-level middle class family. Heck, her family had a vacation cottage. She never worked on the streets, never lived on a working-class budget and yet she knows how it feels to be one of them. What a crock. Clinton is and always has been the true elitist in this race. At least Obama grew up with working-people and went back to the streets of Chicago, helping those same working-class citizens Hillary says he's out of touch with. Hill, baby, you're the only one out of touch with reality. Until you face the prospects of getting your job outsourced because of a trade agreement your husband signed and you supported, don't act as if you're a common folk. You're anything but common, you're cut from the same upper-class, stick it to the poor cloth as the Bush family.

Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 11:52 PM by DaveT
while offering an idiotic rationale for voting for Rodham Clinton.

If your attention span can stand a brief explanation of the sentence you asked for -- Obama did not suggest that there was anything wrong, weak or bitter about anybody's faith. For you and your ilk to claim otherwise is a lie. A big smelly lie.

And assuming for a second that he might have mispoke and inadvertently suggested something like that, (which he did not) these participants in the commercial offer absolutely nothing of substance as to why such a comment should turn a vote. The ad is content free sneering and geering.

That is why hundreds of DUers are disgusted by this ad.

Why aren't you?

As a Florida Democratic voter, I don't think the attack ad compares at all to Hillary's comments on the Compassion show. You know, the ones where she threw Al Gore and Kerry under the bus by describing them as elitists who didn't respect common voters.

And here I was thinking that Al Gore won in 2000.

this low rent ad shot would have pushed me in that direction. My goodness, what is she thinking? I actually laughed out loud when I saw it, and thought "desperation makes some people act out in stupid ways." And then I remembered she isn't the smart woman I used to think she was, just another power hungry technician type. She can't run a campaign, she barely ran her senate offices, she could no more run a country than she could her own budget. Buh-bye.

Somebody get this woman something else to do - some routine job, far away from real responsibility. This is getting embarassing to watch. The only consolation is that I am certain Ms. Legend in her Own Mind is just gnashing her teeth and raging over why otherwise stupid voter base is getting smarter on the issues, and turning away from her.

493. Wow -
Every time I think that the lowest point has been reached, she is able to dig down in the chasm of her humanity and pull something more vile and just dumb out. :puke:
How in the world does she think this is going to help her?
I too remember a time when voting for her wouldn't have been a bad thing for my conscience. If it somehow manages to come down to a possible vote for her now, I don't know if I can
convince my conscience or my soul that I won't rot in eternal purgatory for selecting her.

I'm also scratching my head in amazement that there are still some Hillary supporters that don't think this kind of thing is out of line. And if this one instance doesn't light the fire in you, what about looking back at all the times she has
employed the more Republican-esque type of attacks/messages (3:00 am and the one in the op)
or reversed her stances on issues now that she's a candidate (NAFTA/Iraq war)
or her willingness to openly alienate the states that she knows she's not going to win (Bill didn't win that one either)
or alienate the types of voters she's not going to have big numbers in (prius driving, latte drinking, trust fund babies?)
When has it ever been respected to join the opposing side in destroying a member of your own party? AREN'T WE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE FIGHTING FOR THE SAME THING - TAKING BACK THE WHITEHOUSE?

I for one am now through the hate and anger stage of my grief. I now pity her. I feel sorry for her that she apparently has no idea what she is doing to herself or this country.

The positive side is, the longer she continues this frantic desperation, the more people see what she is truly capable of and she is losing credibility every day.
She now has no-one to blame but herself- Others may come up with the ideas to produce these dumb-ass ads or to have Republican-eese in her speeches, but she's the one who makes the judgment calls on what to include and if she's going to run with the ideas or not.

This is NOT what I or anyone else I personally know wants from the Commander in Chief. Have we really learned nothing in the past 7 years?

522. Our Future First Lady...
I just attended a Michelle Obama Campaign event in York, Pa... It was incredible the number of standing ovations she received. She was magnificient... She

spoke like "real fokes" speak. I was impressed by her ability to speak to issues that were spot one with regard to the challenges that my entire family

faces, from my grandparents, to my parents, to my self and wife, down to my kids...

After the event while standing in the lobby, a teary eyed senior couple walked up to me, grapped me by the hand and said, "I am so glad I am hear today, so

glad"... They had just learned who Barack and Michelle Obama are, not by the media pundits, but by Michelle Obama herself.

There was applause after applause after applause throughout Michelle Obama's 60 + minute speech where she called for change and described the lack of

empathy in our government officials... What a leader our future first lady promises to be.

can't pay for gas, heat their homes, losing houses, and on and on it goes.

They can't afford to turn away from any little chance for survival they have. The days of being a political fussbudget are rapidly drawing to a close for many Americans.

New voters are registering in record numbers, and Obama is a big reason for that.

Mark these words: If we will lose again in '08, it will be for the same reason it's been since 2000: Electronic election theft.

People are hurting out here, and well, I say "Damn you" for being so cold and clueless and trying to suppress the expression of legitimate anger and frustration.

And finally, there is nothing...and I repeat NOTHING more right-wing and "Limbaugh-like" than saying "We will lose in November, and will have no one to blame but ourselves", with no explanation of WHAT that means and HOW exactly that works. It's positively troll-like. And I'm sure you didn't intend that.

I'm voting straight Dem as well. I do care about who gets it, but I will definitely be voting Dem.

532. It's a misquote ...

It's a half misquote taken out of context to boot.

Hillary may not be bringing health care to the entire nation, but she certainly is taking the southern strategy to the entire nation.

538. Oh wow this is terrible...
I'm so glad she won't be on the ballot in November. The good thing is that we can really seal the coffin on the Clintonite "Third Way" for good.

540. Once again she proves whose side she's on...
...her own. No one else's.

Oh, the lies... those painful lies she keeps telling. Oh, sorry, I forgot, a sin of omission is not a sin.

562. It's too late now. The rec period is over.
I did my best, and everytime I kicked it, it got more recs, but I just couldn't manage to stay awake all night. :-)

I wrote some awful goofy crap in here just to keep it kicked! :hi:

Now I must go have a rest. My seething, elitist and bitter Hillary hate for the day is done.

585. It's a case of the old
"who should we believe? You, or our own lying eyes?"

We know that the old republican playbook says this should have worked in her favor, but it has done the opposite. The old way of politics is dying along with the Clinton campaign. And it looks like Obama will be able to handle the similarly styled and filthy, phony campaign that war-whore McCain is likely to run.

592. her advisers should tell her this is hurting her, not Obama
Poll after poll show Obama surging not only against her, but against the other candidate who bashed him: John McCain. She's playing a losing game.
