Obama is the elitist?

If it wasn't so obscenely pathetic it would be funny, the only thing more pathetic are those that buy it.

2. Scaife Funds A Group That Calls For The Execution Of Gays
"Scaife also funded the Western Journalism Center, headed by Joseph Farah. Farah has been connected to reconstructionism, a movement to replace judicial law with Christian Old Testament law. The organization is antigay, and would move to punish "practicing homosexuals" by sentencing them to death."

Why isn't *that* getting any play in the media?

4. Money is not proof of elitism.
I'm an Obama supporter, but this isn't a solid argument.

Somebody having more money than another does not make them more of an elitist.

8. Wealth and elitism aren't related?
Ok.

I guess then that GWB really is a cowboy and not a trust fund blue blood from Connecticut who has spent the last seven years advocating for the wealthy at the expense of the poor.

Yep, Hillary must be a down home girl simply because despite her Saudi/Chinese millions and her close relationship with media moguls she slurps down the occasional beer on the campaign trail.

Good lord, how stupid are you people?

11. Sweet Jesus...some people should not be permitted to post on public forums...
Yes, wealth (and intellect, and education) are often "related" to elitism.

That in NO way means that one can judge whether an individual is "elitist" based on money, etc.

The contention was that "Person A" could not be more elitist than "Person B", because Person B had more money. That's simply not true.

14. Me, too.
I think a lot of people's misgivings about him were on style rather than substance, as are much of the "I hate Clinton/Obama" threads on DU today. Rather than confronting Republicans on the issues, we spend time typing away, accusing people of having expensive haircuts, associating with people who have opinions we don't like, and of using words that may be mispercieved.

Hopefully, this isn't going to take anyone away from the real work of canvassing and making phone calls in the GE.

9. Obama's oldest political friend is a slum-lord under federal indictment.
I don't know if that makes him an elitist.

But he certainly isn't on some moral high ground.
