I really don't know if I'm bitter or just pissed off ??
But everytime I see that moron asshole of a President on TV, my stomach churns. I almost get physically ill. I hate what he has done to our country. I despise the way he has treated our military and spent us into oblivion. I loathe the way he admits that he knew about the memo to torture people.

I am very angry that so many jobs have left this country and that the price of gas is now 3.25 in my town. I deeply regret that I have had 4-5 different jobs since Dubya stole into power and that I have spent most of my savings over the last 7 years just trying to survive. But, am I bitter? Or am I just pissed off?

Or am I an elitist because I know that many Americans are just like me? They are patriotic just like me. And should I not be thankful that this present bunch of criminals have spent us into the poorhouse and that the Democratic Congress has been sitting on their hands for the entire time? Am I an elitist? Or am I bitter? Or am I just pissed off? Maybe some smartass, that is not an elitist, can answer this question?

1. Can we be both?
It's not like bitter and pissed off are mutually exclusive.

I am both quite a bit of the time.

3. I have fought hard my entire life not to be bitter...
It's not something that I ever wanted to be. Because it eats away at your soul. But it does not happen in a vacuum. There is a reason.

6. Well, I agree with that.
I don't like feeling the way I do. Maybe it's more frustration and a sense of powerlessness that gets to be overwhelming at times.

I've pretty much turned off the tv. I do come into DU but it's different than having to watch it unfold on national television.

I just look at the last 7 years and know that I don't want another 4 - 8 years of this. I am too old for the frustration and anxiety. I have grown children who have a lot more at stake than I do and I worry for their future.

7. I have tried to do the same........but I don't think that I can bear another grossly manipulated...
election. If they attack Iran, and are able to successfully use it to win the next election.......
I might cross over into bitter myself.

2. I understand, but you're just like many of us who have had enough
of the shameless corporate profiteering, and gov't de-regulation allowing companies to essentially run our lives. It is criminally wrong, and we need people held accountable. I'd love to see dumbya, evildick, rove, numerous other repubs, and ceo's thrown in the clink for wrongdoing. I just don't have a lot of faith that it will happen. I truly believe Obama is our only chance at changing the fundamental workings of our gov't at this time. It's OUR GOVERNMENT, DAMNIT! WE THE FUCKING PEOPLE! It's tough here, too, and it sucks!

4. What's the opposite of bitter?
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 11:33 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
Glad? Pleasantly disposed? I'm sure no one in America is bitter at all over the cost of gas, over our failing healthcare system, over the loss of our image abroad, over the loss of jobs, over our declining educational system, over the growing divide between rich and poor.

No, I'm sure the common people are not bitter and never could be. They are overjoyed and delighted at the fact they are swimming up to their noses in Chimp shit.
